The Midnight Feast
Reviews

Easy reading, some twists at the end are not too predictable.

More or less the same story and characters from The Paris Apartment with different setting and dressing.

Creepy, exclusive manor-turned-hotel in England; woods; and...gigantic birds? Sign me up. This is a novel about rich people and the things that they do with their money. Oh-and there's a body thrown in. Rich in atmosphere and gothic vibes, The Midnight Feast was enjoyable to read.

I normally enjoy Lucy Foley but I couldnāt get into this one. The characters were annoying, the pieces all felt a little too convenient, and it fit together too perfectly.

It was okay. The plot was okay, the characters were okay. It was a bit dramatic, which I didnāt like. I liked Lucy Foleyās other books more. So this seemed pretty average for me.

Itās been a while since I picked up a Lucy Foley book but this one was the perfect June Book on a light summer reader and what a book this was, I enjoyed getting lost in the woods and I was kept on my feet throughout the entire book, towards the end I started to peace the puzzle together as well as some curveballs in there as well which kept me on my toes throughout the book. The perfect mystery book for Summer!
Welcome to The Manor itās a new resort in nature for the rich and is having its grand opening around the Solstice, but the locals are not happy that the Manorās owners have blocked off land access to the beach in an attempt to privatise it, among other things. There are whispers of avenging birds from the locals, but surely, itās just folklore. The day after the Solstice, a body is discovered on the shore, and something is on fire.
Told through multiple charterās point of views as well as alternating timelines which I will admit took me a while to get settled with the jumping and changing but once I settled, I was hooked, and it didnāt let me go until the end with wanting to know what happened and to who. Foley has masterfully woven the lives of all the characters and all their closely guarded secrets.
Foley has done an excellent job at connecting everything and picking up on the small details of the characters and tie up all the loose ends. I would 100% recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a summer mystery thriller.
