I’ve read that this was L.M Montgomery’s least favourite book, that she couldn’t quite write it out exactly as she pictured it. And I suppose that goes to show how different your opinion of a book can be from the author’s. I was DELIGHTED by this story! It’s beautiful, contains the perfect amount of intrigue and tragedy, and isn’t phoney or over dramatic like a lot of straight-forward romances. I’d say this book falls right beside Jane Of Lantern Hill for me, which is my favourite L.M.M book after the Anne and Emily series. I plan on reading it again very soon ✨💛
