Finally Mine

Gloria Parker has finally found the courage to leave her abusive husband, Glenn, with the aid of a blond woman who appeared out of nowhere and jumped on Glenn's back as he was attacking her.  Now Glenn is in jail and she may finally have a chance with Aldo Moretta, the man who has had a crush on her since high school.  When Aldo is deployed to Afganistan for 6 months, Gloria takes the time to work on herself and get her life together.

Finally Mine utilizes the same timeline as Pretend You're Mine, so some of the scenes and chapters from that book are identical, causing this story to feel somewhat repetitive.  However, the characters of Gloria and Aldo are more fully explored as are the problems of living in an abusive situation and the difficulties in finding an escape.  Because most of the other characters and events have already been introduced, the plot moves gently through Gloria and Aldo's relationship.  Overall, Finally Mine is a nice, sweet follow up to Pretend You're Mine.
