Things We Hide From The Light Knockemout #2
Reviews

Love the sexual tension in these books, as enjoy reading about different characters and their secrets etc.

This book DRAGGED. But it was still good. We’ll see if I read the third one 🤷♀️

** spoiler alert ** An entire book revolving around the premise that the good boy has to sleep with the bad girl to remind him that life is worth living almost sent me into an early grave. Tate Dilton get me next PLEASE.

this definitely is a slow read. I started the first book and absolutely was entangled into it. I wanted to absolutely love this book but it was difficult. Honestly, I purchased the audiobook and that’s what helped me finish this book in 8 days as opposed to the first book only taking me 2-3 based on an unpredictable work schedule.

Idk

LOVED! Just as good as the first in this series, hope there’s another coming!

I enjoyed the plot but found the book a bit long and I guess was worth finishing idk. I loved the relationship between Nash and lina.

basically a repeat of the first one but still really enjoyed

This one was actually so much better than the first one. Knowing that those around us can help heal us is absolutely incredible. It was so sweet at the ending omg

Nash is trying to get his feet back on the ground after being shot and nearly dying, so when Lina moves in next door and he begins to feel human again, he thinks she may be the answer. Lina finds Nash extremely attractive, but she isn't the type to settle down, and she recognizes that Nash is the kind of man who will want the picket fence and a bunch of kids running around. Before they can make any decisions, however, they must first deal with secrets they are both keeping and the threat that still looms over the town of Knockemout.
Things We Hide From the Light is a good addition to the Knockemout series, but it's not without problems. The book is much longer than it needs to be and the character of Nash is, at times, extremely overbearing, but the rest of the quirky characters add balance, especially Lina, who is a good match for Nash. Also, many funny moments, as well as action and suspense move the plot along quickly. In addition, the banter between Lina, Nash, and other characters if first rate. Overall, Things We Hide From the Light is an entertaining novel and an enjoyable read.

Wow, this is simply amazing. The story, the details of the character, the reason they are the way they are wow! The Knockmount Series holds a light to my heart. Nash Morgan has my heart, sorry Knox. A tear or two were shed at the end of this one

i couldn’t care less about their jobs and about half way through the book i stopped caring about the couple. there’s really no need to make the book this fat. it was overall a little entertaining but can’t compete w the first book

LOVE THIS

“you!” - lany
“love like this” - zayn
“put a little love on me” - niall horan
"what would i do without you - drew holcomb & the neighbors
"hesitate" - the jonas brothers
"she was an anchor, keeping me from floating off into the abyss. true north. the way home. and I loved her for it."
i wasn’t expecting to enjoy and love this book so much
i love how lina brought light into nash’s darkness and how nash gave lina the trust/security that she needed to open herself up to love/being vulnerable <3 nash and lina became each other's safe space
i resonated with Lina’s character so much like she grew up with restrictive, watchful parents where she became a free spirited adult with commitment and trust issues. like TOO REAL lina became one of my favorite characters and seeing her find not just love, but also friends that she can be herself with, made me so happy for her. i love her so much that when the third act break up happen, I WAS IN TEARS IN SHAMBLES
also, the friendship dynamic between lina, naomi, and sloane was my favorite!! they are the cutest!!! and so hilarious esp with the guys! i love how involved the side characters are in the story! made the reading experience so much fun

Adorable. Definitely cried several times in the epilogue.

lotta violence lowkey

This one was a slow burn, but I am so in love with their story!! Lina and Nash make the ultimate power couple through all trauma and triumphantly! I cried happy tears, and felt every emotion, and their growth as individuals and as a couple was downright BEAUTIFUL. Absolutely breath taking - I loved this love story so hard and I am so sad that there’s only one book left for these brothers to wrap this huge family around 🥹 I am mad that the third book isn’t out yet, because I want Lucian’s story now 😭😭

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨/5 • 🌶️🌶️/5
This is another one that I can’t believe I waited as long as I did to read this one. I loved TWNGO and knew I should’ve of read Nash’s story sooner than I have. I really enjoyed the storyline from start to finish. The found family throughout the book was top tier. There was very little to be disappointed in. The mental health representation from both characters really added a depth to them that made their interactions with others and each other unique. I enjoyed the continuation from the first book worked so well that I was captivated from th start. I am so excited for the third book. The build for Lucien and Sloane has been a long one but I already know it won’t disappoint.

not sure how I could like one book and strongly dislike the second book. this book was the same exact structure as the first. the nash we met in the first book is nothing like the Nash we had in this one. Why does all the action happen in the last 40 pages of a 600 page book? why was the wedding so damn ugly? why was everyone so sad and anxious? go to therapy perhaps?

Solid 4 ⭐️ I loved Lena, knew I would. Nash was fine, spice was good. Love the microtrope of “I sleep better with you”. Way more hyped for the couple of book 3 though

I loved it! It was sweet and rare and I totally resonate with the emotions the characters felt. Had some spice and some drama and I loved everything about it!

Again, super adorable romantic comedy with a little bit of action. This Knockemout story follows Lina and Nash's story. I do feel like this story is essentially the same as the first book, but hey. We don't read RC's for the twisty ending. I will say one thing about Lucy's books ....loving the spice.

this did not help me get outta my book slump but I somehow completed it.
characters were fine though I felt like they had more potential and why was the ending literally the same as the first book? idk the ending wasn't what I was expecting. that epilogue wedding scene was kinda cute tho

An absolute beautiful book.
Highlights

“I need you, Angelina."
"Why do you call me Angelina?"
I gave her hips a squeeze. "It's your name."
"I know that. But no one calls me Angelina."

"Being vulnerable doesn’t mean you’re weak. lt means you trust yourself to be strong enough to handle the hurt. It's actually the purest form of strength"

"Yeah, well, he can go find his vitamin D someplace else" And so would I. Ha. Solid inner monologue dick joke
funny.

"Try harder." I yanked my hands free. In a moment of petty spite that felt damn good, I shoulder checked him on my way out the door.
The enemies aren’t lovering and i’m getting madddd

Wildflowers because they reminded me of you," I explained.
5SOS 🌸🤩

He threw a chunk of red-skinned potato across the table at me. I volleyed back with a scoop of green beans
y’all are in your fourties’ having a food fight at a family dinner be so fr 😭

Okay Creeper. Get a hold of yourself. Youre depressed and pissed off. Not a sweater-sniffing stalker.
LMAO

I kicked at a rock, missed, and jammed my toe into the ground. "Ow. Fuck," I muttered.
idiot

This whole woe-is-me wallowing was really starting to piss me off,
starting to piss me off too

“Being vulnerable doesn’t mean you’re weak. It means you trust yourself to be strong enough to handle the hurt. It’s actually the purest form of strength.”

“Your gun is digging into me.”
“That’s not my gun,” I said through clenched teeth.
Her mouth curved wickedly. “I know.”

Everyone was alive and breathing. Everyone but me.
I was just pretending.

My heroic husband held it together for the both of us. He'd kept it together until the twins were bundled up, pronounced healthy, and I was safe. Then witha look of love just for me on his handsome face, Nash Morgan had passed out cold.
Always happens

"Were getting married." "People are shooting at us and you want to propose?
It’s a thing between him and his jrother

"So we meet again," I sid coyly. "I was just telling my short friend how I met a cute guy in the cereal aisle." "Were you? Because it sounded to me like you figured out thind osomething you shouldnt have”
Well fuck here we go again

"Do we have a deal?" he prodded. The man was still inside me. "Fine. Deal." “High-five?" he offered, grinning.
Lol

"Oh boy." Naomi whispered, tilting her bag of popcorn in my direction.
The character development she had I can’t I love it

"Being vulnerable doesn't mean you're weak. It means you trust yourself to be strong enough to handle the hurt. It's actually the purest form of strength."
Yeah I still don’t like it

"There's a difference between bein' honest and keepin' private matters private." I was glad to hear him say that. For me, of course. Not for him, because obviously he should be truthful with the people who cared about him. My situation was entirely different.
Those situations where you give a friend a really good advice but would never follow that advice yourself we love it

"God, yes. Why do you look so happy? Are you delirious? "I think so. Jeremiah gave me a sweat towel." "Nash gave me his water. Are we as pathetic as I think we are?" "Oh, much worse," Stef insisted.
This is hilarious I love it

This time, the universe answered me with a phone call. The universe was a jerk.
Perfect

We stood like that, closer than we should, with gazes roaming and breath strained, for a long, heated beat.
