This book just lost me way too many times and it came to a point where I didn't see the point in really following. Nocte was really promising but sadly I didn't feel the same way when I finished the series.

I have so many thoughts when it comes to this series and this book. Like they're all jumbled and everywhere like Calla's mind. I truly understand where the author was taking this story and I understand what the author did. It just felt very flat to me. Nothing really connected or made sense. Now, I am a fan of open endings and a reader creating their own end. HOWEVER, this ending? Not okay. Like it's just a cycle of the books repeating one after the other. And the author wrote a "author's note" to explain in more detail the endings and what's up with the story. That wouldn't have been necessary if things made more sense.

The supernatural/religious elements of the story didn't make sense at all. I felt like the series could've done well without them being there and the story wouldn't really have changed without those elements.

I also disliked the copy and paste of book one and two in the third installment. Everything was so repetitive. And as a psych major and dealing with mentally ill people in the past, I know that they tend to repeat themselves A LOT, this just wasn't the right thing to do for the book.

One positive was the writing. I look forward to reading other books by this author because she's really easy paced.
