I’m think I’m in love with Rebel Blue Ranch.
I mean I’ve always known that a country love song pulled at my heartstrings, but seeing a story like that play out on page was something new. I was also impressed by the amount of emotional depth the author was able to pull out of her characters. Brooks was just broken enough that my heart ached for him, but also healed enough that he is ready for a relationship.
I was not expecting to like this as much as I did, but oh did this story sweep me off my feet. Like I was giddy reading it. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series.

Love an enemies to lovers plus a small town romance. Was a good slow burn with a happy ending.

Me gustó mucho.

this was my first cowboy / ranch read & it did NOT disappoint.

I genuinely enjoyed lyla's writing and character details in this story, I find a lot of romance novels hard to get through bc they end up writing too much spice or the writing is cringe. Yes, this story has a lot of tiktok remarks and says "sugar" a lot but it's well written enough for you to disregard all of that. Lyla keeps the book entertaining and draws you in, I don't think I once thought "this book was boring".
if you read romance and HEAVY on a lot of cowboy romance take my review lightly because i don't have any other cowboy romances to refer to!

Yeah no. I expected something like Elsie Silvers Cowboy Romance. The characters and plot felt very flat. I missed description of their daily routines and their relationship didnt have that "slow burn" build up that the book promises.

emmyluke are everything!! i wasn’t expecting to love this so much ugh i’m obsessed!
luke's yearning was giving!!! He was so DOWN BAD for emmy
i love a good brother’s best friend and this definitely delivered !!!!

Too cheesy. Why can’t I find a romance with a real man in it? Who actually acts like a cowboy.

wooooooooah nelly. if u ignore the alpha male brother parts that actually made me roll my eyes and want to barf, this is a really good fluffy and sweet and hot contemporary romance. also… cowboys are like incredibly hot.

I enjoyed this book a lot. This was a quick, easy read in between a series. I loved watching Emmy overcome her fears and become more confident in herself. I loved watching her and Luke's relationship grow, I was literally swooning. Teddy was so funny, I honestly loved all of the characters.

I’ve read better wattpad

Quick, easy read!
Typical yeehaw romance! I did love the descriptors though like I could tell exactly what the spring and waterfall would look like and the ranch!!
What you can expect:
- small town
- adhd rep
- brothers best friend
- not so secret romance
- barrel racer FMC

quick and easy read if you want something uncomplicated

I’m about to move to the country I stg

2.25/5 A bit boring, unoriginal, with lots of overused phrases that can probably be found in hundreds of romance novels these days. These are the first things that came to my mind after finishing it, because seriously, you could find hundreds of almost identical books, but I still somehow enjoyed it to some extent as I basically read it in two days. I think the book could have been more enjoyable if the main characters were more likeable. The heroine was okay, even though some of her actions were just stupid, but the hero? This guy was insufferable most of the time. "Emmy is in Meadowlark?” Gus’s tone was tight. Shit. I definitely threw Emmy under the bus. “Yeah, she left my bar with Kenny Wyatt last night.” Again, shit." You definitely threw her under the bus. "I felt the smallest of smiles tug at the corners of my mouth, thinking about Luke Brooks having to ask that girl to drive him to go pick up his best friend’s little sister." He shows up tipsy and late with his hookup to take you home because his best friend asked him to, and you smile at the memory because at least he showed up? The bar is in hell. The writing style was entertaining enough to keep me engaged in the story, although I still skipped some things because I didn't care about them, but some of the sentences here were painful to read. "You can take it, sugar. I’ll go slow.” Is this sentence a requirement in romance books nowadays? I've seen this exact phrase in at least hundreds of romances. "How much do I owe you?” she asked. “On the house.” “You sure?” she asked." It’s literally the TikTok sound. The originality is dead in books these days. Honestly, I picked up this book because the second story is coming out in a few days and I wanted to see if this series is worth reading, and now I'm not even sure if I'll read it. Maybe, maybe not. I remember liking some of the books in the Chestnut Springs series from Elsie Silver and I feel like Lyla Sage took a lot of inspiration from it, so like I said, maybe I'll read the second book, because it might be the same situation as in the Chestnut series, in which some books worked for me and others didn't. We’ll see.

Reading this was like a warm hug. I am so impressed when authors can write low angst and low stakes (but high steam lol) in a way I can’t put the book down! The chemistry between these characters is everything. I had such a fun time with this and even got emotional by the end. Women empowering cowboys are my favorite.

smut was on point but “this isn’t a romance novel” really knocked it down a few pegs

I love this book! It was so cute to read, a little sexy, and had a plot where he helped the main character overcome her fears. I want more!

oh luke brooks i need you bad

✨Today, I saw the only thing in my life I ever thought was prettier than Rebel Blue, and that was Emmy.
✨Emmy let the slightest hint of a smile slip, and I felt like I’d won the lottery.
✨Her hair was messy, as usual. I wanted to be the one who made it that way.
✨When it came to Emmy, I was playing with fire, but I would happily walk into the flames for her. And I’d have a smile on my face the whole damn time.
✨Honestly, I didn’t think I’d be able to stay away from her, no matter how hard I tried.
✨At that moment, the back slider opened, and in walked Emmy. It was a good thing I was still holding Riley because if I wasn’t, I probably would’ve dropped to my knees. She was beautiful. I wondered if there would ever be a time when she didn’t cause my heart to go from zero to one hundred in one second flat.
✨I couldn’t believe the universe was so big, and I got placed on this random floating rock at the same time as Clementine Ryder.
✨Teddy said sarcastically, but my eyes were on Emmy. My eyes were always on Emmy.

fun silly little book that i read in the middle of iron flame. such an easy read and love a small town romance hehe

Listen, I get the cowboy craze. I’m here. Welcome to my cowboy era. I feel like these books are written for the 90d horse girl and I’m here for it. Yeehaw!

who am i kidding, i will always give 5 stars to cowboy books. i’ve been starting to love forbidden romance and this just did it for me, Emmy and Luke took my heart in the first few chapters.

They were so cute GAH 😫🥰
Healthy relationships and good communication is officially something new to me and something I want.
What has happened to me 😭

“Some love stories burn hot and fast, but you two are more low and slow,” she said. “It’s a strong and steady kind of love.”

“Thank you for stepping in when all of it happened. You’re the one that made him calm down, or at least just walk away.”
Teddy had known exactly what to say to Gus that day.

“She asked for you.” Teddy shrugged. “Emmy never asks for anything. She just puts her head down and deals with things in the only way she knows how, by kicking shit around in her own brain. But she asked for you.”

“She loves you, too, you know.”
The thought of that terrified me, but it also made me feel like the luckiest man alive. I didn’t really know how to be in love, but I knew I wanted to be with Emmy in every way I could. I wanted the kitchen slow dances, nights out with shots, rides through the mountains, hot sex, afternoon naps, and two-lane highways with the windows down.
I wanted it all.

“You’re in love with her,” she said. It wasn’t a question.
“Yeah, I am.” I didn’t have any reason to lie to Teddy. If she didn’t punch me in the face the day she came into my office to interrogate me, I was pretty sure she wouldn’t now.

When I pulled back, he said, “Thank you for coming with me, Emmy.”
“I’d go anywhere with you,” I responded.
I meant it.

Emmy Ryder might have been in like with me, but it was then that I knew I was falling in love with her.

Emmy was worth the wait. I’d been waiting thirty-two years for her without even knowing it, and she’d been right in front of me the whole time.

This woman had me wrapped around her finger, and she didn’t even know it.

“You can thank me by letting me tear that godforsaken dress off of you later.” Even with the band playing and the patrons singing along, I could hear Emmy’s sharp inhale.

I was a goner for Emmy Ryder.
Before yesterday, I could’ve denied it, but not anymore.

“Yes. We need to make sure I get the present I wanted.”
“And what’s that?”
“Watching Luke Brooks fall to his knees the minute he sees you.”

Luke lifted his hand to my face and tucked my hair behind my ear. “You are something else, Emmy Ryder.” His eyes were soft, content. Like he could stay here with me all day. The way he was looking at me turned my heart upside down.
If I wasn’t careful, I could fall head over heels for this man before I even knew what was happening.

We stared at each other, and I decided this was the moment. Not the moment that could’ve been if I hadn’t closed the door on him, but a better one—a moment both of us chose to come back for.
That’s the thought I was mulling around in my brain when Brooks said, “I can’t stay away from you anymore.”
He took a step forward, grabbed both sides of my face, and kissed the hell out of me.

I couldn’t believe the universe was so big, and I got placed on this random floating rock at the same time as Clementine Ryder.

One-near fuck in my truck, and this woman had me wrapped around her finger.
Who was I kidding? I’d been wrapped around her finger since she walked into my bar.

I lifted myself off of Emmy. I took in how she looked. Her hair was still damp and messier than usual, but I was finally the one who’d made it messy. Her lips were swollen from my kisses, and she had red marks on her neck from my mouth.
She was fucking devastating like this.

“Emmy—“ I started, but didn’t get the chance to finish because she gripped my shirt in both hands and pulled my face to hers.
The second our lips met, it was like I was on fire.

Emmy Ryder was just…more. She was more than anyone was, or than anyone would ever be.
