Had I heard him right? No. No. No. Absolutely not. This could not be happening to me.

“We’re happy to have you,” I said sincerely. Not because I felt pulled to her, not because she was beautiful, and not because I’d kissed her. I was happy she was here because her being here meant that I was on my way to having something at Rebel Blue that was mine.

“That feels like too normal a word for them,” he said. I waited for him to continue. “When you meet them, you’ll get it. It’s easy to see that they’re a forever type thing.”

My hands reached for her before I even knew what they were doing. Then she was in my arms and my world stopped again.

Ada was a stranger to me, but I didn’t want her to be. Maybe what happened in the bar last night was fate.

Maybe Baby Blue wasn’t my only chance at something bigger—at something that could be mine.

“No, but we definitely don’t have as many hot inn owners.”

“But you seem to have a monopoly on hot cowboys.” I said it without thinking. It got Weston’s attention, his head snapped up to look at me. Our eyes met for a fraction of a second and I immediately regretted it.

i love weston so bad. like i felt so connected to him it was so unreal. ada was a bitch to begin with but i could understand why. but i do wish we had gotten more of her backstory. i also liked the dynamic between her, emmy, teddy and cam. i hope we see more of ada and cam in the next couple books. 

also some problems arise but they werent talked about or resolved which i hated. but i really enjoyed this book!

i love weston so bad. like i felt so connected to him it was so unreal. ada was a bitch to begin with but i could understand why. but i do wish we had gotten more of her backstory. i also liked the dynamic between her, emmy, teddy and cam. i hope we see more of ada and cam in the next couple books.

good god she’s annoying to me. he’s hot, i mean obvi, he’s a cowboy. i really think book #3 where it’s the best friend and the grumpy brother will be more “my speed”. but this was fine, incredibly surface level and very instant love type which is just not my favorite.

I read this book so fast, I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed Ada and Wes's story so much, but I felt like the ending was a little rushed. I really wanted to read more of their story. I ate this up, and I loved Ada's character so much. Can't wait for the next book to come out, I am loving this series!

Oh how I love a good cowboy romance! If there is one thing I completely adore about the Rebel Blue Ranch series is the setting, it feels so much like home, I would leave my city to go live in a small country town in a heartbeat!

In this second book we follow Ada and Wes. Ada is an interior designer and influencer ready to move from the city to a small town in Wyoming in the hopes of running away from her old life. Wes is the nice guy of the family hoping to prove himself to everyone around him while battling depression - and he also happens to be the one who hired Ada. 

This book was fun and quick to read! The plot was good, although I would have liked for it to be more developed. I would’ve taken a longer book if it meant elaborating more on some aspects of the story.
The writing is simple and very easy to read, which is great for a romance as it makes it possible to read the book in one sitting (who doesn’t like to binge-read a good love story).
As for the characters, they were the best part. I have to say my personal favorite was Wes, since I felt he was very well written and three-dimensional. I loved that we got to see a side of depression that isn’t often portrayed in media: the “happy” side. When everything seems to be fine on the outside but there is a dark cloud on the inside. It made me feel seen and really resonated with me. And I also loved that it was lightly talked about and it wasn’t a big deal or something the character was ashamed of. I feel it did a great job normalizing it while also keeping up with the light theme of a romance book.
Overall, Swift and Saddled was a pretty good cowboy romance and I will definitely be reading the rest of the series. I do have to finish by saying that my most anticipated couple are Teddy and Gus, and I can’t wait for their book!

Another hit from Lyla Sage! The Rebel Blue Ranch series has officially filled the Chestnut Springs hole in my heart. 

Wes and Ada were such a sweet couple. They were absolutely giving black cat x golden retriever vibes and I ate it up. 

Wes Ryder is such a soft boy and it was honestly refreshing to read. Of course, we all love a rugged cowboy but there's something about Wes's softness and vulnerability that won me over. I absolutely loved how candid and open Wes was about his mental health and I appreciate the way Lyla Sage wrote about depression. Ada on the other hand was such a complex character. Where Wes is open, Ada is closed. Due to past trauma she's built a wall to protect herself and that results in a push and pull between her and Wes. Seeing her embrace her emotions and be vulnerable with Wes had me smiling through my tears. 

As always, the Ryder family has my heart and I love them. My favourite thing about reading small town romances is the side characters and god I love each and everyone in this series. You can feel the love between all the characters and Lyla Sage does a fantastic job at setting up future books. I can see this series getting better with each release and I'm so excited to read Teddy & Gus book later on this year!
