ada and wes both felt so real to me as characters. ada is such a relatable character from her anxious perfectionist to social awkwardness. wes's open dialogue surrounding depression and mental health was important! i also appreciate how open and unashamed wes was with having depression. it was so refreshing to see the conversation of mental health in a romance especially a cowboy one

good god she’s annoying to me. he’s hot, i mean obvi, he’s a cowboy. i really think book #3 where it’s the best friend and the grumpy brother will be more “my speed”. but this was fine, incredibly surface level and very instant love type which is just not my favorite.

I read this book so fast, I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed Ada and Wes's story so much, but I felt like the ending was a little rushed. I really wanted to read more of their story. I ate this up, and I loved Ada's character so much. Can't wait for the next book to come out, I am loving this series!

Cowboys written by Lyla Sage are built different. I love this series so much  and cannot wait for the next one. 

I loved this book through and through. Such an easy and simple read with great characters. Huge crush on Wes, he had me blushing and kicking my feet literally. Can’t wait for the next one!!!

Oh how I love a good cowboy romance! If there is one thing I completely adore about the Rebel Blue Ranch series is the setting, it feels so much like home, I would leave my city to go live in a small country town in a heartbeat!

In this second book we follow Ada and Wes. Ada is an interior designer and influencer ready to move from the city to a small town in Wyoming in the hopes of running away from her old life. Wes is the nice guy of the family hoping to prove himself to everyone around him while battling depression - and he also happens to be the one who hired Ada. 

This book was fun and quick to read! The plot was good, although I would have liked for it to be more developed. I would’ve taken a longer book if it meant elaborating more on some aspects of the story.
The writing is simple and very easy to read, which is great for a romance as it makes it possible to read the book in one sitting (who doesn’t like to binge-read a good love story).
As for the characters, they were the best part. I have to say my personal favorite was Wes, since I felt he was very well written and three-dimensional. I loved that we got to see a side of depression that isn’t often portrayed in media: the “happy” side. When everything seems to be fine on the outside but there is a dark cloud on the inside. It made me feel seen and really resonated with me. And I also loved that it was lightly talked about and it wasn’t a big deal or something the character was ashamed of. I feel it did a great job normalizing it while also keeping up with the light theme of a romance book.
Overall, Swift and Saddled was a pretty good cowboy romance and I will definitely be reading the rest of the series. I do have to finish by saying that my most anticipated couple are Teddy and Gus, and I can’t wait for their book!

i liked but wasn’t obsessed. the book moved too fast to fall in love with the characters. i usually hate main characters with trauma but i wish we saw little more of it from ada. I STILL WANT A COWBOY

I loved this one. Wes and Ada’s story is adorable. I love how they met at the Devil’s Boot. That scene was so cute, and the first thing Wes said to her was just perfect. 

I really liked Ada’s character. I thought her fear of being tied down and her tendency to run was a a good way to show some of her insecurities. I also found Ada really relatable, especially when she talked about liking who she is but believing people didn’t like her. It’s so easy to get into that mind set. I love that Wes was able to break down her walls, and that Ada let him. 

I also loved that they didn’t renovation together. That’s such a special thing for them to have shared while falling in love. I also loved the glimpses of the couples to be and of Brooks and Emmy of course. 

I think Lyla Sage is a great writer. However, I wish that she showed us more than she told us. I think it would’ve been more powerful if we saw some of those moments between Wes and Ada when their relationship was changing. We were told that they had started sharing sweet touches while working, but I wish we would’ve seen that. 

I can’t wait to keep reading this series.

Another hit from Lyla Sage! The Rebel Blue Ranch series has officially filled the Chestnut Springs hole in my heart. 

Wes and Ada were such a sweet couple. They were absolutely giving black cat x golden retriever vibes and I ate it up. 

Wes Ryder is such a soft boy and it was honestly refreshing to read. Of course, we all love a rugged cowboy but there's something about Wes's softness and vulnerability that won me over. I absolutely loved how candid and open Wes was about his mental health and I appreciate the way Lyla Sage wrote about depression. Ada on the other hand was such a complex character. Where Wes is open, Ada is closed. Due to past trauma she's built a wall to protect herself and that results in a push and pull between her and Wes. Seeing her embrace her emotions and be vulnerable with Wes had me smiling through my tears. 

As always, the Ryder family has my heart and I love them. My favourite thing about reading small town romances is the side characters and god I love each and everyone in this series. You can feel the love between all the characters and Lyla Sage does a fantastic job at setting up future books. I can see this series getting better with each release and I'm so excited to read Teddy & Gus book later on this year!
