“I swear by the stars that you and the others slain tonight will be the first of many. Of that you have my word.” With Aven Dalmarta now hiding in the shadows of Meya, Alex is desperate to save Jordan and keep the Rebel Prince from taking more lives. Training day and night to master the enhanced immortal blood in her veins, Alex undertakes a dangerous Meyarin warrior trial that separates her from those she loves and leaves her stranded in a place where nothing is as it should be. As friends become enemies and enemies become friends, Alex must decide who to trust as powerful new allies—and adversaries—push her towards a future of either light... or darkness. One way or another, the world will change...

This book was fantastic!! Some really great new characters, and a new look at some old ones made this a really unique instalment to the series. I’m obsessed

A book with draekons [aka dragons 🐉]? What more could I ask for. Loved this book even though I’m not usually one who enjoys time travel in books. But this book got me good. Loved the overarching concept: if you ‘accidentally’ get stuck in the past; get to know your enemy before they become your enemy. But I definitely still missed the usual gang [aka Kaiden ☺️]. It was really interesting to revisit characters we like and dislike or just character we knew little about and see them before shit hits the fan. It was also super weird actually liking Aven 🤮 considering what he does in the future. And then there’s Niyx, all I have to say is we love him. I felt so sorry for Alex; to find out that you were the spark that triggered your enemy of the future to do what he’s done 🤦‍♀️ And what an ending! It was like bang [the Meyarin king is assassinated], bang [Aven’s claim on Jordan is reversed], bang [Niyx goes behind enemy lines and plays spy].
