4.25 ⭐️ This book was the biggest rollercoaster I've ever experienced. (I’m unwell) ((help)) I have to admit that I (like most people) was super scared when Lynn announced the sequel bc wdym they broke up?? But in the first chapters I thought it became very clear that it was something necessary in that moment and that in a way it was good for them both to grow individually so please don’t let your fear stop you from reading. I had a LOT of fun while reading, the first 50% of the book was super light and fun and I really loved the new characters, I felt that when things got tough they were the ones who made it happier. For me, the main idea of the book was to show that love alone is sometimes not enough in a relationship, sometimes we need some time alone to understand ourselves better and that’s ok, what I really didn't like was the way it happened. Even knowing the whole situation, the second flashback from new year’s eve felt WAYYY out of character. I almost threw my kindle at the wall but I'm glad I didn’t bc the last pages were super cute and reminded me the feeling of reading about them for the first time. Now we need to talk about the TENSION the ANGST the YEARNINGGGG that we have in this book, everyone knows they were cute in BTTM but in this one they were SOMETHING ELSE!!!!! The masquerade party scene made it look like I was interrupting something, I was blushing like 90% of the time and I’m not even joking 🤷🏻♀️ (the “God, I hate you.” vs “God, I love you.” parallel left me weak) I feel like many will love this book and many will find it unnecessary but I'm surprisingly on both teams. Would I survive without this sequel? Yes. I loved reading more about them? Also yes. I thought some things ruined my memory of them? Yes again.
