This book is a mix for me. It’s hard to review it and rate it, some parts of the book could be a 1 and the other can be a 5. In all the book is a 4.5/5 for me.

messy, confusing and yet emotionally captivating, bold and statement making. The entire way through this book I was confused, and I still am. And yet there are some parts of the book that I understood, parts that i connected the dots and made me sick to my stomach and parts that made me on the verge to tears. 

EVERY CHARACTER IN THIS BOOK, HOWEVER I HATED. DESPISED. COULD NOT STAND. THEY WERE ALL ANNOYING IN ONE WAY, SHAPE OR FORM, except Jeremiah. Poor guy. So blinded from grief and loyalty from a girl who would not have grieved him and was not loyal. OH AND SEBASTIAN. idk there's jus somma abt him that i just LOVE ❤ oh wait and that other guy evan he was so blissfully unaware and innocent EVEN THO HE PROBABLY ISNT 💀💀

ALSO IM CONFUSED IF DELIA WAS LYING OR NOT. AND IM CONFUSED ABT WHAT HAPPENED TO JUNE AT THE END. LIKE HUH, WHAT IS GOING ON.

also the part where we find it out Delia isn't dead is the most borderline confusing shit ever. LIKE WHAT WAS EVEN GOING ON??? btw i despise June and Delia for life <3

This book was super messy. I like suspense and twists so that’s why I gave it 3 stars but the beginning spent way to much time on figuring out of and was murdered or not.

I just can’t decide if it’s an one star or a five star book. Because I kinda fell in love with it but it was so predictable and implausible sometimes.
But I truly fell for the relationship between June and Delia. 
Funfact since the moment June met Delia again I wished through the whole book that they kiss and when it happened I was not satisfied. 
Funfact 2.0 in my head I pronounced Delia like Delilah from the first to the last page :) 
All in all I would say I don’t think that this book deserve all the hate :)

I honestly had no idea how to rate this. This book was really good from the beginning all the way to more than halfway. Then it got slightly boring, and then it got good again and then finally I was like WHY???? 
This book is better going into it not knowing anything. I didn't like that June didn't understand. WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY

um. It was ok. Just things kept happening for the sake of happening. The writing and plot felt like a wattpad book.

I have mixed feelings.

To start off with I loved the writing style that Weingarten weaves throughout. The story is haunting and the atmosphere of suspense is no doubt there in a way that will keep the reader engaged. 

But then there is everything else.

I'm always a little nervous when it comes to stories revolving around a suicide, particularly (view spoiler)[ stories in which the suicide is a twist and... who woulda guessed it.... they aren't really dead. (hide spoiler)] And with everything else that felt a bit icky and over-the-top and glamorized in this book, the suicide aspect just didn't sit right with me.

And then there was the relationship between Delia and June. (view spoiler)[While it isn't ever explicitly made clear, Delia is very clearly toxic and manipulative. If you don't get this during the book you will definitely note it in the ultimatum Delia gives June (in a very emotionally manipulative way) at the end of the book. (hide spoiler)] I honestly didn't like any of the characters in this book, not because everyone is morally grey, but because they all seem manipulative and toxic in some way. Even Seb, who I wanted to like, made me feel a bit icky about how he is pasively involved in everything. 

Don't get me wrong - not liking the characters isn't always an instant hate on the book for me. Sometimes that's the point. But with everything compiled together this story just ended up rubbing me the wrong way.
