A drifter named Sean turns up in Lochdubh with his girlfriend in a traveling bus. He turns on the charm and seems to have all the village under his spell until things turn south. People start acting funny, turning on their neighbors, wanting to move away and things start disappearing. When the drifter turns up dead, Hamish must uncover the murderer and why the whole town is acting strange.

All Sergeant Hamish Macbeth wants to do is fish and drink coffee with his fiance. Then a mysterious stranger moves into the neighboring village--a rich, unmarried heartbreaker, causing rivalry among the local women. It is amusing until death threats, assault and murder shatter the tranquil countryside. Hamish must investigate the darker side of love and desire.

A new man moves into the village and has all the women swooning. When he disappears, Hamish has a feeling he’s been murdered. When other dead bodies show up, he takes time of to unofficially investigate since he feels they are connected.

I have been enjoying the side romance of Hamish and Priscilla but it’s getting to be annoying. Priscilla can flirt and have dates with other men while she is engaged but can’t trust Hamish and considers him a philanderer if he does the same. A bit of double standard snobbery there.
