Slightly disappointed with this one. The previous two novels I read by O'Farrell were both 5 stars but this one was lacking something and I kept waiting for it to grab my attention which never happened. I kind of had to force myself to keep picking it up and finish it.

There were some aspects that I enjoyed such as the two strong female leads (even though I quite enjoyed one of stories quite a lot more than the other), the emphasis and importance of art throughout the book and the beautiful writing style. However, I went into this novel with the wrong expectations since I thought both characters would eventually meet and influence each other which was not how the story played out. Also, the ending felt deeply unsatisfactory, really abrupt and the characters and the reader got no closure from what we just learn at the end of the novel. 

I will 100% continue reading books by this author but this just wasn´t my cup of tea.
