i'm too stunned to say anything

4.5 Kind of heartbroken that this is over but I'm excited for the spin-offs! The series got a satisfying ending and I'm really grateful for that. The pace was relentless and I wish we had gotten a little bit more down-time but at the same time there was a lot to wrap up in this finale and the book was difficult to put down. Kate Daniels is and will probably always be my favorite urban fantasy series of all time and I cannot wait to re-read it and tell everyone to read it too!

What a book. There were some things which bothered me in this final book. I won't go into details because spoilers but ihate magical fixits with a passion and it was alluded that could potentially happen with one of the secondary characters. That bothered me because seriously why? But my other issue is Curran and Kate don't seem to have figured out all of their communication issues. It felt like unnecessary conflict between the couple I love. It didn't ruin the book for me but it did bother me. But enough of the negatives I did really enjoy this end to the series. I know there will be more in the Kate Daniels world but I'm glad to see Kate and Curran get the resolution they needed and to see and end to their chapter. It wrapped up well even if I did question if it was all a little too convenient. But even if it was I liked it.

I have finished a whole series of books for the first time in YEARS, and I am unmoored. Bereft. Lost. What do I do without my Kate? *sigh* This book was perfect though. So, so perfect.

I'm not quite sure what to feel about the finale to Kate's journey. In some ways it was "satisfying" but in others, it left the taste of so many questions in my mouth. And I have to say that I don't think all that went down was great for many of the side characters that I've come to know and love.I need to think more on it, but will also add that the actual final conclusion to the Kate and Roland war came so quickly at the end that it felt a tad rushed to me. Anyway, more thoughts at another time...

I honestly can't believe the KD series is now over!! At least it is for Kate & Curran. This is probably my all-time favorite urban fantasy series, so it's bittersweet to say goodbye to them after 10 incredible books. It's a very well-deserved ending for them, jam-packed with action and humor. Luckily, I saved Hugh's book to read after this so I won't have quite the book hangover, and I'll rest easy knowing that there definitely is more to tell in the KD world. Full review to come! Thanks to the publisher for generously providing me an ARC to review.
