i think the only reason this took me so long to read is that it’s comfy and easy to wander back to when i got distracted by something else. i thought it was a fun time and i really enjoyed all of the different characters. i look forward to read the rest of the series!

I loved this authors Darkness series so I was intrigued to see what she could do with an older heroine.

I was not disappointed. Jacinta is a normal, middle-aged human whose life has been put into tailspin after her divorce. So what if she's not blemish free, if she sags a bit and has a few wrinkles. She had an undue fascination with a friends relatives creaky old house and when given the opportunity to become its caretaker, she leaps at the chance. ANy thing to not live with her parents any more!

What Jacinta finds however is a group of misfits...odd folks. One looks like an ancient bag lady and the other is a seriously vampiric looking butler! Add in a very large, very sexy man mountain who runs the local watering hole and Jacinta isn't quite sure what she has let herself in for!

Jacinta has a lot on her plate! Moving home, new job, new slightly weird friends, attraction to a very manly man and an all consuming need to be within Ivy House. Great characters, superb story. I loved the way poor human Jacinta finds herself entangled in a complete supernatural web of weirdness!

Jessie is well on her way to learning her new life and settling in. The tough alpha, Austin, has joined her team, and she has painstakingly learned to fly. At the moment, life couldn't get any better. But it can get a whole lot...more irritating. Her parents have decided to visit. They don't know anything about magic, about Jessie's new digs, or about the crazy crew living in and around Jessie's house. She must do everything in her power to keep the truth away from them. Which would be much easier without the unfelt presence lurking within Ivy House's borders. It seems an enemy has figured out a way to magically bypass Ivy House's defenses. Jessie is completely exposed. The real battle, however, won't be with the incoming force. It will be between Mr. Tom and Jessie's mom, each intent on being the most helpful. Mr. Tom might have met his match, and he is not pleased. Just when things were finally settling down, Jessie is in the thick of it again, and this time, the turmoil is all around her.

Not as great as the previous two but still a very good addition to the series!

The decision has been made. Jessie has taken the magic, and all the weird that goes with it. Including wings. There's only one problem - she can't figure out how to access them. Through a series of terrible decisions, Jessie realizes she must ask for help. Gargoyle help. But she could've never predicted who answers her call - he's an excellent flier, incredibly patient, and a good trainer. He's also incredibly handsome. And interested. Maybe flying isn't the only thing she needs help with. Maybe she needs help getting back on that saddle, too, emerging into the dating pool. Except, the new gargoyle is also an alpha, just like Austin, and the town isn't big enough for two.Turns out, flying is the least of her problems.

The author does an amazing job at keeping you engaged from page 1. So far I am enjoying all of the characters and my attention is held from beginning to end.

The Ivy House team is shaping up, but there are still holes to be filled, and a magical summons outstanding. Jessie needs a teacher. Someone who can fit in with the whacky Ivy House crew. And that was going just fine...until she gets a request to host a powerful, neighboring mage. A teacher isn't going to be enough. She needs more power in her crew. She needs some might. This time, Austin Steele might not be able to dominate what she calls in, creatures no shifter has ever dominated before. But that isn't all Austin has to worry about. After a skirmish in the bar, suddenly his whole world is turned upside down. He can no longer ignore the feelings that have been growing for Jess. He also can't ignore the town's complete lack of readiness for the neighboring mage's visit. He must call in his brother to help lock down the town. And when his brother arrives, he must finally hash out the past that has split them apart so that he can claim his future.

           This series just keeps getting better and better. 

I’m so glad that Jessie and Austin have finally admitted and accepted their feelings. Sebastian definitely took me by surprise and I’m very intrigued to see what happens with that plot line!

The sex parts are a little too lengthy and I would prefer more fight scenes. But this is my favorite one thus far.

Magical Midlife Meeting

I had a hard time engaging with this book. But once I got to the middle, I couldn’t put it down. 

I found myself skimming over the sex scenes but everything else was very engaging and thrilling.

Let me start by saying, this book was AMAZING! Honestly, I’m just a bit under the targeted age for this new sub-genre... but I still absolutely loved it! So much of what was in this book, I could totally relate to and the things I couldn’t, I still found hilarious and refreshingly honest! Jacinta may not be the heroine so many would ask for, but she is the heroine we ALL need! I am almost done with my third read-through of this and it is every bit as awesome, funny, and witty each time through. I really cannot wait for the next in the series! The supporting cast of beautifully colorful characters are so easy to love as well. The dialogue between Niamh, Earl (Mr. Tom to you), Edgar, Austin, and Jacinta is pretty much the best banter I have ever read, hands-down. I cannot stress enough how much I loved this book! A definite, must-read, you will not regret it!

MAGICAL MIDLIFE DATING.

I absolutely loved this return to Ivy House and Jessie's world! As the story picks back up Jessie is attempting to reenter the dating world, a perilous endeavor in the best of circumstances! Niamh, Mr. Tom, and Edgar are being their usual helpful/unhelpful hilarious selves and Austin Steele is as sexy and alpha male as ever! Aside from that Jessie still has to learn her new powers as a gargoyle and heir to Ivy House with the help of a whole cast of new and very interesting characters. Oh, and to top it all off, there are still nefarious forces at work attempting to take Jessie and the power of Ivy House for themselves. Adventure, comedy, subtle romance, this book has it all! I cannot wait for the next one!

This book is another amazing entry into what is shaping up to be an all-around awesome series! This book has so much to offer a reader! There is tons of humor; without any spoilers, Mr. Tom, Edgar, and Niamh are all goldmines of humor, but Mr. Tom is my favorite! There is building sexual tension; Jessie and Austin and holy slow burn, but it burns so good! Last, there is action and danger; I mean, hello, pretty much the entire magical world wants to be the one to control Ivy House and it’s owner. Just throw in a visit from Jessie’s entirely human parents and you’ve got the crazy awesome rollercoaster ride of this book!

Without giving away any specific spoilers, the title of this series entry is so appropriate to the story. The heat factor has effectively been raised to 100! This has been my favorite book in the series so far! Jessie continues to come more and more into her own as mistress of Ivy House in some very amazing ways. Austin has stepped up in his position in the town admirably as well. I loved all the new characters introduced in this book! Jessie’s circle is filling up with some powerful allies and I can’t wait to see what the final showdown ends up looking like considering all those in play already. I have to say, I absolutely loved the twist ending and can’t wait to read the next book!
