Making Up

Making Up A Shacking Up Novel

A new standalone, laugh-out-loud romantic comedy by New York Times bestselling author Helena Hunting. Cosy Felton is great at her job—she knows just how to handle the awkwardness that comes with working at an adult toy store. So when the hottest guy she’s ever seen walks into the shop looking completely overwhelmed, she’s more than happy to turn on the charm and help him purchase all of the items on his list. Griffin Mills is using his business trip in Las Vegas as a chance to escape the broken pieces of his life in New York City. The last thing he wants is to be put in charge of buying gag gifts for his friend’s bachelor party. Despite being totally out of his element, and mortified by the whole experience, Griffin is pleasantly surprised when he finds himself attracted to the sales girl that helped him. As skeptical as Cosy may be of Griffin’s motivations, there’s something about him that intrigues her. But sometimes what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas and when real life gets in the way, all bets are off. Filled with hilariously awkward situations and enough sexual chemistry to power Sin City, Making Up is the next standalone in the Shacking Up world.

5 AWESOME GODDAMN HILARIOUS STARS!! Hi BookLovers, Argh! I'm just sucker for Rom-Com nowadays and it's starting to drive me insane. Oh! Not to forget I happen to love Age-Gap romance as well. Sucker for an old man! The Griffin Mills kinda hot man. The big buffy alpha in suit old man. And I guess Helena Hunting did a very good job at this age-gap romance. It was an awkward encounter between them, I mean how can it not? The man practically strolling around the Adult shop not knowing what to do and thank fucking god for a smart beautiful sexy salesgirl hehe. I know he's gonna come back for her and what I didn't know is she would say no but he's persistent so I give him that. I really hope you guys can give this book a try, it was totally worth it and amazing. Helena did an awesome job but when doesn't she? All of her books are amazing. Highly Recommended! :)

Drama Llama Cosy and Griffin are so cute! All the drama was like watching a daytime drama but ... I’m a sucker for it. No matter what, they jumped the hurdles and showed up for each other. Younger woman/older man. If you enjoy new young adult reads then give this book a shot.

I have to be honest. I didn't like Cosy. She's 22 and I just... I didn't like a lot of the reactions that came from her. I don't know if I was raised in a different way or what, but I learned very early on to not jump to conclusions and to not be impulsive. Cosy was the complete opposite. I know certain situations were tough, but instead of talking things out, she'd run away. For me, you can stay mad if you want to. But talk things out, let the other person explain and then make your decision. I've read novels where an age gap is present and it doesn't bother me at all. I actually like them. But with this novel, I was cringing, at times. Because of how Cosy is, she appears so much younger than 22. Heck, I've read books with age gaps, in which the main characters are younger and more mature, even one specifically where the main character was 19. I did like how in the end Cosy matured a little and was there for Griffin when he needed her the most. Sadly, this happened on the 95% mark so it was too little, too late for Cosy to redeem herself in my eyes. But enough about Cosy or this review will be rated lower if I continue to dwell on it. Let's talk about Griffin. First of all, I love that name because it reminds me of another male character, one I love immensely. Whereas I always connect the name Griffin to someone who's grumpy, this Griffin is anything but. He's the sweetest. One particular thing I loved about him was that the man has a lot of money, but he doesn't flaunt it all. Okay, so he has his awesome sporty car. But that's it. I didn't even know just how truly rich this guy was until later on in the book. His personality is very humble and down-to-earth. Now, when it comes to Cosy, he wants to throw all the money her way, so she can have nice things. Thankfully, Cosy doesn't care about the money, not like her sister Nev. Nev was super interesting. At the beginning, I was so not a fan of Nev. I couldn't stand her at all. But throughout the book, I started seeing different sides of her that had me wanting to know more about her (can we please get Nev her own book?!). Again, I'll be honest. I think there was a lot of unnecessary drama in this book. Instead of there being in-depth conversations, there was drama thrown in the picture. Every time things were going good, the drama plane would fly in and change things. This repeated itself throughout the entire novel. It irked me because here you have a nice plot to make a great story, to include scenes of just the couple getting to know one another, and instead, I just get blow-out-of-proportion drama. Don't get me wrong, I like drama, but not like this, to simply move the story along. Overall, I was not impressed with this one, unfortunately. Cosy truly ruined the book for me. But if you don't mind unnecessary drama and enjoy it with popcorn on the side, then go ahead and pick this up! You might just like it :) Follow Me: Blog ❃ Instagram ❃ Twitter ❃ Bloglovin ❃ Facebook ❃ Goodreads ❃ Pinterest

Making Up was my first book by Helena Hunting and I wasn't disappointed. I'd say it's a good sign when a romantic comedy makes you laugh after reading only a couple of pages! That wasn't the last time that happened while reading this story and I'm sure I got some weird looks while reading on the train when I was laughing out loud. Cosy works at an adult toy store and how she describes it makes you cringe, but laugh as well. Hopefully there aren't too many Eugenes out there! I really enjoyed Cosy as a character. She may take her time finishing her college classes, but she's doing what makes her happy! Getting her degree and traveling in between semesters. Cosy is an independent woman and works hard for what she wants. She's not really open to relationships after seeing her sister experience things and of course, because of the few experiences she had herself. Griffin is an interesting character. I think he's really sweet and even though he has a lot of money, he's not arrogant. He may not think of what he spends, but he doesn't make it known to everyone how rich he is. On top of that, he's kind of a number nerd. Griffin works for his family's business and loves what he does. He hasn't had the best record in relationships even though he's more of the serious relationship type. One night stands aren't his thing. Their relationship is pretty interesting, but what do we expect when you meet the person you're attracted to at an adult toy store. I love the connection they have from the start and how they flirt with each other I also love all of the awkward moments they experience that you could definitely relate to if it happened to you. I couldn't put this book down, because I was enjoying this so much. They have a lot of amazing moments to read about and I love the romance and steamy moments. For me the only reason this wasn't a five star read, because I thought there was just a bit too much drama. I mean in a romance I expect some ups and downs and bumps in the road, but there was just a bit too much. I mean for me only so much can go wrong before it doesn't feel real anymore. Besides that I loved every aspect of the this story! All in all, a fun read with an amazing couple! There are plenty of laugh out loud moments and I came to really care for these characters. Even though this is a standalone, it did feel like there were a few things that came from previous books (like little updates). I will definitely have to pick up the first three books in this series!

I am just going to admit it, I love Helena Hunting stories. And I even love it even more when she release more fantastic romance books. And she does. She published Making Up, and I can say that everyone is going to enjoy so much. Like you cannot since it will make you laugh so hard while you are also swooning over their cuteness too. But let's get started on Cosy and Griffin persona. I definitely appreciate Cosy strong persona. She is very stronghold that it might intimated some people but who cares for them anyway. Less people to worry about. She has a game plan that you either fall into or not. And you better do cause she won't be talking to you or messing with you. She definitely does not want to waste any time at all. And who does? But Griffin is going to test her limit, but a good way. It's going to shape her up but she needs it. Nothing ever goes to plan. Everything change in a instant. Griffin is too cute. I want him for myself. I'm kinda jealous of Cosy. She gets to have him but like I want him. He may lacking confidence in the dating department but he is too caring and sexy that someone whole got to have him. And Cosy is the one for him. He is willing to obey her rules because he wants her and he respect her. But he may face some difficulties when he starts dating Cosy. It may be rough at first, but he got this and he is willing to pay it work. I definitely appreciate the determination that Griffin has. Cosy and Griffin are cute for each other. But there will be some challenges for them. I feel like that Cosy should not be too hard. Everyone cannot be perfect at all. No one is perfect. Everything makes mistakes. It's up to them to own up to it. And Griffin does. Cosy needs to stop being too hard cause she is not perfect either. She needs to adapt cause Griffin is a catch. Besides my little rant, I know that Cosy and Griffin are going to make it. They are meant for each other. Making Up will make you realize that life is nothing easy, it has some difficulties but along the way you find the person for yourself. 5 Stars.

Find this review and more at kimberlyfaye reads. I've not been great at sticking with the Shacking Up series. I've skipped books and read out of order. I absolutely loved the first book in the series — Shacking Up — and I enjoyed the second — Hooking Up —quite a bit. Unfortunately, I didn't have as much luck with Making Up. Age gap romances can be tough for me, especially if I don't see much beyond sexual chemistry for a couple. That was the case with Cosy and Griffin. I liked them together, even if Cosy was a bit much for me at times, but I wondered WHY they were together. They didn't have much in common and I struggled with them as a couple. That said, this was still a fun, quick and sexy read, even if it's not a favorite. I received a complimentary copy of this book for review consideration. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Favorite Quotes: "This feels a lot like Pretty Woman, except I'm being paid for my virginity."  "I promise I won't be someone you'll think back on and regret."

This is book four in the Shacking Up series but you can read the books as standalone if you so wish. I have read all the previous books in this series so far and I have very much enjoyed them. I did enjoy the book and it is well written . As per usual I have loved the characters and the story. I do give it a 4 out of 5
