How to Survive a Horror Story

I really loved it!! This is my absolute favorite trope but also absolutely a creature all its own. It only loses half a star because I wanted the ending to go the other way, but I understand why it is the way it is. In horror, you can have the cathartic, "the evil is conquered" ending, or you can have the horrifying "the evil has conquered" ending. I won't say which this was, but I wanted it to be the other! But even this dichotomy is unfair because the book is more nuanced than I'm giving it credit for. It's a great work of horror, and I devoured it.

Honestly, pretty good book. Like I don't read a lot of horror, but this one was something that legit felt like a movie and had some fantastic twists especially with all the narrators being unreliable.

I'm not sure how I feel about the ending; is he a ghost or is he back?
