I found myself giggling throughout listening to this book. I adored the independent and quirky main female character Caro. 

The romance between Caro and Val was adorably sweet. Their scenes together had been smiling and the way he thinks about her is just precious. I really liked the character development he had to go through in order to win Caro over.

The mystery of the crime made for a great story. It was very fun to experience how everyone reacted to their questioning and it got them into some interesting situations.

This book did take me a few chapters to really get a feel for the writing. This is only my third historical romance novel, so it takes me a hot second to switch my mind, but once I did, it was very cute!!
