A very well done account of Charles Manson. It is detailed and completely fair, laying out the facts and providing accounts from many angles.

I expected more from this book. While I didn't know much about the Manson Family murders and this book does a good job explaining the motive and everything that happens, there is far too much detail and history about irrelevant events that some of the more interesting parts of the book are lost in the details. I didn't need a history of Haight-Ashbury/LA/The Beachboys and so on. While the author goes on and on about setting and minor people, the big things the details are very limited and sprinkled with obvious speculation.
