Okay, let’s face it; I’m an absolute sucker for pregnancy tropes. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would, and I undoubtedly think the surprise pregnancy trope was given justice, and it wasn’t necessarily insta love, which I appreciated a lot. Perfect for a light and quick read! Hayes and Sophia are so adorable together with their little Ava, and overall, I just loved the fuck out of this. This story was enjoyably fast-paced, with no deep and angsty conflict, just pure fluff. I just wish this book was longer though, and there were more scenes about their “fake fianceé” plotline, and really just them being domestic with the adorable and funny banter.

i don’t hate this book i loved it and i really enjoyed it but you know it just a simple story from enemies to lovers then we got accidentally pregnant 😌 that’s all i really love the characters but didn’t reached my expectations. but overall its fine.

The writing was mediocre at some points but it was cute. The conflict was predictable (which isn’t bad) but it came out of nowhere in the last 20 pages of the book. It was too last minute and didn’t hold much significance other than being an annoying sidetrack to the story. The issues from their childhood weren’t necessary and only mentioned twice or so every 100 pages; if it was meant to be a part of their story, there should’ve been a deeper dive into it or a flashback chapter. Sophia claimed that there was “clear evidence” of Hayes’ cheating when the girl only brought a pair of her own underwear and knew where he was. They stopped hating each other too early (I feel like they didn’t really hate each other that much to begin with), fell in love quickly (not in a bad way), fought then got back together too fast. It was cute but not my cup of tea.

There's just something about possesive man and how even more possesive they get once they get their partner pregnant 😩😩😩 so hot. There were so many cute scenes I adored every single one of them.

First of all, the cover is SO pretty. Like seriously.

 The reason for the three stars is that I felt that Hayes and Sophia's connection wasn't much. Their bickering was not it, a their relationship was like mehh. Didn't have me smiling and screaming into my pillow. They were just okay. The end is what completely ruined it for me. Spoilers next:

(view spoiler)[ Okay so by chapter 22 (of 24), Sophia basically ends her marriage with Hayes because she believed that he cheated on her with a puck bunny. Like there wasn't even any proof, the puckbunny just showed up to their home (which she's never been to) and like flashed her panties claiming to miss Hayes after the "other night". 

 Like bro. It's kinda stupid that she actually believed that. Idk if it's me but yeah it was really dumb. And basically at the end she fnally listened to Hayes and he told her that the puck bunny is a crazy stalker of his (not surprised). and yeah they make up, yadda yadda yadda.

 The thing is, while Hayes was wining her back, he said something about unresolved issues they had back then, but NONE of the issues were mentiones except that he wasn't nice or respectful to her. That's it. Like bro. No.

 Another thing, this book has the following tropes:
  1) Accidental pregnany: I like this trope, maybe even love. But broo here, it was kinda weird. like their personality and relationship over night bc of the baby. bruh, there's definitely slow burn missing.
 2) "Enemies to lovers": my ass. Nothing like that. No slow burn, minimal hatred, minimal bickering. not even considered enemy to me. like POOF they suddenly didn't hate each other. 
  3) Fake marriage: bro i just can't.

Anyway, though it had things i did not particularly like, I enjoyed it. And ahh I missed finishing a book in one day so much. I'll be reading The Newspaper Nanny next. hope it's better 😭😭😭😭

Jamás entendí cuál era la razón del odio que se tenían. El libro definitivamente no fue para mí.

This was the most cheesy, wholesome "enemies to lovers" "fake fiancé" and pregnancy trope book i have ever read. A comfort book with lovely characters.

It was kinda cute. It’s under the category of enemies to lovers, and a sports romance, but there was only a bit of enmity, and no sports whatsoever, other than the fact that the MMC was a hockey player, and has an agent trying to keep him out the press and its problems. 

The whole book kinda revolves around being “parent trapped” and forced proximity, and it has the pregnancy trope. Which I don’t really mind, but this was kinda cute. The way Hayes and Sophia went about it was actually pretty nice. There were a lot of cute moments in the book. Like smiley giddy ones. The thing is, it started off well, like the tension was HOT, and their banter was decent. But then she’s pregnant, and none of that is there anymore? 
It was a short read and so it was all fast paced and there were so many important things I think was left out. It was like oh there’s a baby in you? okay I love you. 

Hayes was actually pretty sweet and he has potential. I think if the book had a few more chapters, Hayes would be a pretty decent character. 
Overall the book was 50/50. There were some pretty cheesy cringey scenes and there were some sweet ones to balance it out. The book had mad potential, if only it was written a bit better and detailed a bit more.

What I loved:
Cute concept. Enemies that get “parent trapped” on a yacht by their friends then end up banging. Then they conceive a child and have to fake being engaged. Cute concept. Lots of potential. 

What didn’t work:
• Said banging scene was A FADE TO BLACK. this climatic scene and the book was doing so well...this moment that is life changing actually FADES TO BLACK????
• they get fake engaged and out of the blue the MMC starts having real feelings for her out of the blue. No development of those feelings and how we got here other than she’s his baby mama. 

People I blame for this: 
• booktok aesthetics. Just stop. They’re so gorgeous and can be very misconceiving. 
• booktoks skewed “spice ratings” - don’t tell me it’s SUPER SPICY. When the 2 moments are fade to black and were at 71 % of the book. At least tell me this prior to reading the book. Stop misleading people because you want your content to do well. 


Probably would have finished this book if i went into it with different expectations.

Another quick, fun and fluffy read that I loved! I’ve been dying to read this one for a while now, I’m a sucker for the accidental pregnancy trope…I couldn’t not read this one. I’ve now read all of Maren’s books too!

Hayes was another swoon worthy character. Why does Maren write the cutest dad characters? It kills my ovaries🤣 He was so obsessed with Sophia, I loved to see it! I loved Sophia’s character too. The banter and sexual tension between them was everything. 

The pace did feel a little quick for me at times. I just wish we got to see more of them, I felt like there were some missed moments that I would have loved to see. But overall, I really enjoyed this book. It gave me the sports romance fluffiness I was craving!

           I thought this could be a quick cute read and it could have been if the image of the nurturing woman whose only purpose in life of being a mother wasn't so obvious in this book. In the beginning the main character feels like she couldn't think of being a mother at that point in life and the moment she gets pregnant it seems to be the most natural thing and it's almost like "even if you think you don't want a child now, you really want it since it's the only thing that matters in a woman's life". And right after she gets home after giving birth she is like "I'm doing so good, basically nothing hurts, physically I'm feeling fine". While I haven't had a child I do know that there are many women who didn't have an easy breezy birth and this book basically showed all the best scenarios when it comes to being pregnant and giving birth. I don't know, maybe it's just me but the farther I got in the book the more it felt like the author was trying to convey that message.
And omg that stupid miscommunication trope at the end? Like could you not? That was unbelievably unnecessary. The book could've just ended with her getting back home from the hospital and having the HEA but no, on the last 20 pages or so you have to put in a last conflict.
