slightly mixed feelings about this one but it’s a really interesting collection of short stories that is beautifully written - i forgot what an incredible writer Atwood is! i was sometimes put-off by the stories of men and women behaving badly towards each other; the many affairs and divorces started to blur into one and it just felt like a never ending fest of heterosexual struggle (even if the commentary was interesting at times) but these stories were a. joy to read all in all. her writing is gorgeous and witty and i was kept on my toes. i especially enjoyed the ones set in childhood in rural canada. what a treat!

I didn't enjoy the story much, it dragged and had a lot of unnecessary parts even for such a short one. I don't even know if I'll be able to use it in my paper about Blue Beard, but we'll see about that.

I did like the ending, though. Her realization about the egg and what's in it. That was a curious thought.
