I picked this from the library — the shelf labelled ATWO was empty except this volume of short stories. Now I know why. The way Atwood writes is enchanting, thought-provoking and superb.

I'll be camping next to the shelf, in my own little tent.

Después de leer The Handmaid’s Tale, me encariñé decididamente con Margaret Atwood, y proseguí a comprarme todos los libros de ella que encontrara. Este es mi última adquisición, y me gustó mucho. Realmente creo que lo pude disfrutar más porque ya leí y me gustó algo de ella, ya que al contener sus ensayos e ilustraciones es como un acercamiento más íntimo. No sé qué tan disfrutable sería la experiencia si fuese mi primer Atwood.

La gran mayoría de los relatos me gustaron mucho, sólo unos pocos me parecieron poco interesantes. Llené el libro de post-its marcando frases, o agregando mis propias notas como “hermoso”, “mi favorito!”, “anotar esto en mi diario”, etc. Disfruté mucho la experiencia y el nivel de inmersión, a pesar de estar leyendo historias inconexas. Lo recomiendo para todos los que se hayan sentido atraídos hacia la prosa de Atwood en alguno de sus otros trabajos.
