Drawing my 2019 Reading Challenge to a close with this short biography about Helen Keller. I loved this book when I was younger, and it was the perfect length for a desperate graduate looking to finish her reading challenge successfully with just one day to spare! I enjoyed this book just as much as when I was little, although I did wish it could have been a little more in-depth. I am definitely interested in reading a longer biography of Keller's life. The challenges that she overcame are truly amazing, and reading about her story makes me believe that, with hard work and dedication, anything is possible. Looking forward to keeping this lesson in mind as I enter into 2020!

This was a reread for me. 

This is one of my favourite childhood stories and made me think about becoming a speech therapist. The story of Helen Keller is one of strength and empathy and compassion. It shows that you can do anything you put your mind to with a little support from those who love you. 

The best part about this book is that it keeps its age. I read this for the first time when I was 10 and it gave me the same emotions then as it did when I re read it at ages 28.
