Genuinely a hard read simply because of the traumatic events the author had to go through. I just want to give her a hug… no one should ever have to survive this, but she is so unbelievably strong.

A Memoir

I feel so conflicted about this book! Obviously as I read it in two days it gripped me intensely, however in this instance this is not a positive 'can't put it down' feeling. After reading the blurb I was curious and wanted to know the outcome of the memoir but after halfway through I felt very uncomfortable with the subject and the sensitive matter that was factual and all too real. However the other half of me feels that this is so necessary and needs to be discussed and addressed as it currently exists as a taboo topic, similar to addictions of other kinds. I can't really say that I enjoyed this read, however I am glad that I read it and agree with Fragoso in that proper handling of this psychological disorder.
