Dark blue hair, light brown eyes, rockstar attire, and a personality that demanded attention because I deserved it. 

I didn’t say much to anyone. Silence was the best option. Silence didn’t start arguments. Silence left no room for vocal judgement.

Maybe that was my flaw. Maybe I fell in love with the potential of people, not who they really were.

Everything was art in its own way; if you just opened your eyes to see. 

She was my match. An equal. A broken piece of myself, a mirrored shard of glass.

I wanted to be an object of desire. I craved it. I needed to know that I was worthy of love.

I thought… I thought he didn’t notice. I thought he didn’t see me looking. I’m the one who notices everything. I’m the one who pays attention.

No one had ever paid attention to me before. Not like this. Not ever.

Halloween was my favourite form of self-expression. You could be anyone you wanted, put on a costume and people wouldn’t judge you, wouldn’t try and look any deeper than what you showed them.

I realized after I stopped self-harming that directing my pain to the parts of my body that did nothing wrong was fucked. Why would I damage my beautiful skin when my heart was already bristled and stone? One ugly thing was enough.
