Prekrasna!
Easily one of my favourite books and artists. I have so much to say about this book and her and how they changed my perspective of life in just a couple of pages and performances. But at the same time, I can't say anything because I can't put enough words together that will say everything I need to about this book not would they be able to describe everything I felt reading it. Marina Abramovic is a very controversial artist for many people. To me she is an amazing and complex artist and human being whose walk through life has left an immense impact in mine. I am so happy to share this moment of space and time with her art and life.
Interesting for the raw content, but not structured well. I slogged through the last 70 pages. The beginning feels more raw and real and helped me connect her story to her art. At some point in the middle, when the famous names start dropping a d the accolades start counting off, she loses that connection and it all just feels flashy. It feels like a disservice to her work. Also threads of the story just disappear. Loved getting a view into her life and work, but can't help but feel she didnt live up to her artistic legacy.
