           Beautiful, haunting story of the Armenian Genocide as told decades later by a Turkish gendarme, Emmett Conn. Through the protagonist's dreams, the author unflinchingly writes about trek from Turkey and including the disease, squalor, and most disturbing, the inhumanity.

But as much as I want to type about the riveting story of Emmett and his search for the young Armenian captive, Araxie, I want to ensure you that this book is about so much more. It just seems as the main character discovers his own memories, the reader learns about the forgotten horrors of the Armenian Genocide and its painful truths.
