Build-A-Bum and Other Stories of Life and Death
Build-A-Bum and Other Stories of Life and Death is a collection of 20 short works that is often funny, often absurd, and sometimes has animals as lead characters. (And yes, as you were hoping, this is also where you'll find a sexist cannibal, a homophobic vampire, and a Nazi dentist practicing in Santa Monica.) But then humor is subjective, so there is a teensy weensy chance that when reading these stories, you might not laugh. But that's okay, it's probably not you. Because satire, especially when it has a few bad words and the occasional reference to adventurous sex, can sometimes be offensive. So really, don't blame yourself for having a stunted sense of humor. It's probably your parents' fault. But if you are easily offended by this kind of stuff, then you probably shouldn't buy this book, and stick to Nicholas Sparks. And that's okay too. Mark won't be offended.
