           I first thought about giving this book 3-4 stars because it was really good it just didn't really hook me. And then the more I read the more I saw qualities of my dogs in Marley and I was immediately attached.

I did not expect to cry as much as I did. And by cry I mean SOBBED. Chapters 20+ I could hardly read without crying. Reading this book and owning dogs is probably a WAY different experience than if you didn't have dogs or have never had dogs.

If you've had to put a dog down before you understand the feelings that the owners are feeling, and it just brings you back to when you had to do it. Thankfully I didn't have to make that decision but from hearing my mom talk about it and from reading about it it's an extremely difficult decision to make but at some point it's a decision that might have to be made.

Even if you've lost a dog before you understand what the owners are going through. 

You can feel the pain and sadness from the author through this book, and there's never been a book that's done that to me before. The emotions and thoughts that are described are INCREDIBLE!

This was a book that had been sitting unread on my shelf for years and though it brought me sadness I am so glad that I decided to read it. I feel like I gained a new family member and it one of the best feelings I've ever gotten from a book.

This audio book was great company on my walking route to work. It is narrated by the author which, for me, made it more heartfelt. Some of the adventures of Marley are hilarious, sad and heart warming. The impact of this dogs life on the owners (family) it made really comes across and the love the author has for his dog. Really is a lovely Read-Listen and more in depth and funny than the film adaptation. If your looking for a nice heart felt true read, this is your book.  

On my walking route to work this audio book was great company. It was narrated by the author, which made it more touching. The adventures of Marley are hilarious (better than the film adaptation) and there are also touching moments throughout the book. The love and happiness Marley brought into this family’s life is so heart warming. Its also slightly sad.

Non do più di tre stelline in quanto Marley mi è sembrato a volte un pretesto per raccontare episodicamente la vita del celebre giornalista americano (lavoro, aspirazioni, personalità, difficoltà nella relazione matrimoniale) e ciò mi è dispiaciuto: mi aspettavo una diversa narrazione del rapporto uomo-animale, in cui l'amico a quattro zampe fosse il punto focale e non la cornice.

I decided to read this during the month of the one-year anniversary of my dog Biscuit's passing. Crazy decision right? Reading this book, I laughed, I cried, and I reminisced.

Throughout the book, I laughed a lot at Marley's antics. I was reminded of Biscuit's puppy antics. As I read the section where Marley slowed down with age, I could clearly remember what watching that happen was like. This book was a touching and entertaining read about life as a dog owner and the unconditional love that dogs can give.

I laughed...I cried...I smacked my boyfriend for laughing at me as I cried while reading...and then I laughed and cried some more. After all was said and done I gave my 2 dogs big kisses and hugs knowing I will feel the same when their time comes. This is a great story for all dog lovers, and for non-dog lovers to have a sense of why we love our beasts!

Having watched the film, I knew I wanted to read this book. I'd seen so many bad reviews that didn't have anything to do with the writing or storytelling in the book. I personally really enjoyed the book. However, I did get distracted with other books and kept putting this one down. 

The storytelling is straightforward. John Grogan writes with such visual pros. And after reading the book, I’m so glad I don’t have a dog—honestly a good, heartfelt read but not exceptional. I would recommend it if you're an animal lover.
