Let me start off by saying Marley Valentine is the author who single handedly made me fall in love with MM books & I have never looked back since. I know she said this book wasn’t her usual style because it’s low angst & not as emotional but lmao it absolutely was pulling my heart strings!! She writes about connections, chemistry & friendships so beautifully you can’t help but connect with the characters. Right off the bat I loved the blatant show of dominance & submission between Oz & Reeve. It’s something about an openly gay man and a shy one coming together that just does it for me. The immediate need in Oz to comfort & take care of Reeve had my fucking heart pumping with all the butterflies ! Oz & Reeve connected on so many levels 1 being the relationships they had with their family so immediately they had a sense of understanding with each other that was both comforting, vulnerable & refreshing. I related so much to Oz bc I too am 25 years old still trying to find my way & what makes me happy. While my parents are not the ones pressuring me to do anything, I still feel pressured to have my shit more together than I currently do. Oz was my favorite just because of how sure of himself he was when he was with Oz, it never wavered and I loved that, he was like a pillar of strength which I guess they both were for each other at times. I was a little Disconnected from Reeve because I understand that he was getting over his past but that was never expanded on so I was a bit annoyed with him more often than not. I just wanted so badly for him to just be in the moment, quit doubting and just BE WITH OZ. & this is the reason it falls short of 5 stars for me. I wanted more from Reeve about reservations with Oz. This book was on the Light & airy side but it still packs raw emotions between our MCs. The steam? Of the charts thats one thing that’s never lacking in Marley’s books & these 2 just couldn’t keep their hands off one another. 75% in Im not gonna lie, I absolutely DID NOT appreciate Reeves decision he made me so freaking angry & I wished the book was a bit longer to give him more time to grovel because I think Oz deserved that but I think Marley did a very good job tying the story together. *I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to Sarina Bowen, Marley Valentine and everyone in the True North world for this opportunity*
