Danger Close (The Echo Platoon Series, Book 1)
Reviews

Danger close by Marliss Melton is the first novel to the Echo Platoon' series. A military suspense novel involving a Navy SEAL and environmentalist. Characters Sam Sasseville has a great sense of duty even though he is annoyed with his mission of rescuing a spoiled daughter of an oil tycoon. Madison Scott is a feisty and independent woman who is passionate about her work as an environmentalist. Danger does not stop her from being where she wants to be. At first Maddy and Sam were like oil and water but they then develop feelings for one another after knowing each other through several fateful encounters. Setting The story is set in several places around the world. From Mexico to the States as well as Paraguay. Final Thoughts It was very hard for me to get through the book only because it was hard to take an interest in the main characters. While being passionate and caring for others are great qualities, there are only so many times a person should ignore caution when it has been given. Especially when being rescued time and time again by Navy SEALs. The plot had some twists and turns that I kept me on my toes. Ultimately, it was an okay read. *For more of my reviews, please visit my site at https://ilovereading2016.wordpress.com

Sam Sasseville is not a happy chappie. He and his team have been diverted from fighting terrorists to rescuing some dippy hippy environmentalist who won't listen to evacuation orders! Her father may be richer than King Midas but Maddie Scott has a dogood streak a mile wide. She ignored the warnings to leave so that she could protect a group of girls within a school. But when Sam and his men forcibly remove her from the school she doesn't go easily and has to be drugged. Fast forward a few weeks and once again Maddie is at the heart of trouble. Her new job taking water samples in Paraguay has landed her in more trouble and again Sam and his men need to save her from herself. I liked the story but Maddie was kinda annoying. She can't seem to see her own limits and whilst she is trying to do good she can end up making the problem worse. I enjoyed Sam and his teams camaraderie and I'd read the the books in series.
