Another very short snippet, a novellette within a series of novellas, if you will 😂 this one was from the perspective of Iris and Peri aka ART set shortly after Murderbot leaves it to continue its journey. I see now why people recommend you read this after 

, and I would recommend it too, even though you could read it before because it's technically set after 

 but if you want the full experience of understanding then it's best the former way. In this 30ish page short story we get to see Peri/ART grapple with its thoughts over Murderbot and how meeting MB changes the way it acts and sees other bots. It's an interesting theme to think about, how being an advanced machine intelligence with the capability to have humour and connetion with other beings, surrounded by other bots who are not intilligent enough, might be lonely and isolating. I think this was another great addition to the series, giving us another little sneak peak into understanding these constructs and bolstering our empathy for them. Overall it was a lovely snippet, very, very short and as always just enough of a taste but also not quite enough, because now I really want to know a lot more about the University crew because they seem really interesting and funny. Although the set up at the end of 

 hints at us getting to see more of them thankfully! I'm looking forward to it!

I see now why people recommend you read this after Network Effect, and I would recommend it too, even though you could read it before because it's technically set after Artificial Condition but if you want the full experience of understanding then it's best the former way. In this 30ish page short story we get to see Peri/ART grapple with its thoughts over Murderbot and how meeting MB changes the way it acts and sees other bots. It's an interesting theme to think about, how being an advanced machine intelligence with the capability to have humour and connetion with other beings, surrounded by other bots who are not intilligent enough, might be lonely and isolating.
