I wasn't too sure if I'd like this book - thoughts of it being like the Twilight travesty. However, I really enjoyed it. Interesting characters, good back story, paced well - left me wanting to know more about Kalix and her family.

I picked this up one night at Target when I wanted a light read and it exceeded all my expectations. 

In a time where Twilight has diluted Young Adult/Fantasy books, this was a refreshing take on a subject not as popular as sparkling vampires, the werewolf. 

I look forward to the next Kalix books coming out, they are well paced novels that are easy to read but engaging enough that you don't want to put it down.
