The Candymakers is officially one of my favorite books. I've always been a Wendy Mass fan, but "The Candymakers" truly outdid itself and is a stunning, sparkling addition to my little online library!

"The Candymakers" follows four young participants in a contest betewen the greatest candy factories around the world. The challenge? Create the tastiest candy, of course!

Logan Sweet is the Candymaker's son. He's been planning to craft the Bubbletastic ChocoRocket for years, and is eager to prove to himself, his parents, and the whole world that he is a true candymaker. He was such a great character, and I basically started bawling when he said (view spoiler)["But I did win, Dad. Trust me, we all won as soon as the Harmonicandy played it's first note." (hide spoiler)] What a sweet kid (ha ha, Hannah. Get it? Logan Sweet = sweet kid? No...? *sniffles*) Also, I loved the story behind Logan's burns and scars.

Miles is another sweet little innocent boy who seems to have no idea about what he's doing. Who can be allergic to the color pink and rowboats? The startling story from his past ((view spoiler)[he saw a girl running into a lake... who never came back up. (hide spoiler)]) about why he became the way he is added some depth to his character. However, I have to admit that no twelve year old would be that dramatically impacted by an event like that. I do like the twist: (view spoiler)[the girl who ran into the lake was actually Daisy! (hide spoiler)]

Daisy was prooobably my favorite character. Girl power! As a (view spoiler)[spy (hide spoiler)], she's always alert and on guard, and needs to stick to her priorities ((view spoiler)[and deal with her handler AJ (hide spoiler)]) at all times. Trained with endurance, strength and everything in between, Daisy's ready for anything - except this mission. When she realizes the true intentions of her client, she's about to sabotage, but that's when things start to get interesting...

Philip enters the contest purely out of revenge, since he was banned for no good reason. But when he finds out the true story behind why he was banned, and hears a startling confession on the same day, it's up to him to save the Life is Sweet candy factory. How will he possibly convince the other three contestants that he needs to win the contest when he's been so mean to them? And can his genius idea win over the judges, or will a cheater steal the spotlight?

With dynamic characters, a complex storyline, and a cute moral, The Candymakers is a must read. It leaves you at cliffhangers that keep you turning the pages until you realize you're at the end - but you don't want it to stop.

Important Note: I would highly recommend buying a whoooole lot of candy before you read The Candymakers. Unless you want to drool all over the book because every single candy mentioned sounds mouthwateringly delicious. If only the delights mentioned here really existed...
