The Midnight Train by Matt Haig follows The Ghost Wilbur as he looks at his past and reflects on his life and what he wishes he had done differently. Feeling at an impasse with what he can and cannot do and the rules of his predicament, The Ghost goes on a journey through time to learn about his life, face major decisions, and share insightful life lessons and many train metaphors. Compared to The Midnight Library, it still involves many books and shares themes about the love of reading, how stories transport us, and how we sometimes find the right book at the right time. The story is also different enough to feel like a fresh, standalone read. This story would break my heart at times; it would make me think about my own life, and I think, for those reasons alone, this makes this a really great story, because what is not a good story if not one that lingers well past the last page, bringing you back to its pagesn well after you’ve put it back on the shelf. Overall, the story had good pacing, and I went through it pretty quickly. I recommend it to readers who enjoyed The Midnight Library or anyone looking for a deep, insightful story about love and living
