Truce 1914

The First World War was one of the mostcatastrophic wars known to mankind, where millions of soldiers found themselves confined to the trenches on the Western Front with no prospect that they would be home by Christmas. The Truce of 1914 is memorable due to the most incredible 'spontaneous gesture of peace on earth and goodwill towards men' as thousands of soldiers put down their arms on Christmas Day and met up with their enemy in No Mans Land.
