Excellent, actionable book that focuses on niching down, telling stories, constructing an effective elevator speech and a unique title to encourage questions. It’s the kind of book that utilizes exercises and activities, so you’ll want to grab a notebook and space out when you read it.

I really liked this book. I am not saying this because Matthew connected with me on LinkedIn and invited me on board his book's launch team. I am saying this because I connected very well with the book written specifically for an introvert like me who generally fails at networking for a purpose. 

The book is filled with great stories about how Matthew's framework has helped lots of people sell their business services to others through great networking ideas. I am generally not a fan of self-help kind of books, but this book crosses that boundary by connecting with my pains as an introvert to give me ideas and hope on networking.

The ideas that Matthew proposes are really great - the idea of the UM (unified message) seems like a brilliant way to get the introvert into her comfort zone, by getting the other person interested in something that taps into the passion (where the introvert gets extremely comfortable talking!). I am not sure I would go to the details of the prepared responses/scripts that Matthew suggests one memorizes, but I can understand the value that it might bring to others. 

The book made me look back at all the lost chances that I probably could have converted in my academic conferences in planning and reaching out to great collaborators and have had more projects running. I now have ideas to re-frame into my context (since I am not selling any services and my networking events are academic conferences!!) and make my networking more effective.

I would highy recommend this book if you are a clear introvert and have struggled in the past to go beyond small talk to get into professional relations. A great book with practical tips is here for you!!
