Maxfield Parrish Edison Mazda Collection

Maxwell Parrish's work ranges from advertisements, book illustrations and magazine covers to art prints and murals, but he is best known for his calendar illustrations for the Edison Mazda Lamp Division of General Electric. This book is devoted entirely to this collection. Widely considered to be among the artist's finest works, these prints were so popular that GE printed a total of over 20 million Parrish calendars. They are notable for their accuracy of detail, skilful use of colour, and their fantastic themes and settings, displaying Parrish's artistic skill and imagination, and his gradually changing emphasis from human figures to his real love, landscapes.
