giving it 4 stars but more like a bit higher that a 3.5, the age gap is so big it's kinda weird that he knew her like all his live

It took me a while to get going on the “Breathless” series but I have to say that these books have me HOOKED and boy her erotic romance is HOT. I love the depths to the stories that she writes and she definitely takes these books to the next level. And what makes them so hot is really the level of sexy alpha males and dominance. I love a man who likes to be all he man in the bedroom and the way that Rush is written is just epic. Its a story of two people who have known each other forever, as our hero is best friends with the heroine’s brother. So this only raises the level even more of that taste of the “forbidden” because Jace knows full well the type of man Gabe is especially in the bedroom so is even more protective lol But I was so drawn into this world, the friendship between the three men and this in depth romance that is so hot yet sweet and poignant at times.

- age gap
- best friend x best friend little sister
- assistant x boss
- grumpy x sunshine
- relationship with contract
- boy obsessed
•los que me dieron curiosidad fueron los amigos de Gabe, el hermano de Mia, Jace y Ash

Rating: 3 Stars - Liked It Huge Fan of Maya Banks and was excited she was coming out with a new series. Was even more excited as Rush starts off The Breathless series with a crush on the older brother best friend.. I am a sucker for that. Rush is a bit different than her Sweet series. Still has the same BDSM, scorcher-panty-changer love scenes and a sexy couple in the bedroom department, but the hero is different than any of her typical heroes. Yes Gabe is still like her other heroes that she is known to write that are protective with an Alpha Male attitude but his tone was more blunt. For his reasons he does not do relationships and has anyone he is sleeping with sign a contract. Yes I know first thing came to mind was another 50 story but no it was nothing like that at all. Maya Banks is the queen of BDSM novels. He is not a broken character that has to have BDSM as an escape. The ménage scene was different than any of her other ménage scenes but it fit the story line perfect and was heartbroken for Gabe. I was so engross in the story I read it in one sitting. I had to know who would fall in love first and when her brother found out, how it would play out. You know when have a older protective brother he is bound to find out that his baby sister is sleeping with his best friend. Not disappointed in both departments. I enjoyed Rush enough to continue The Breathless series. I look forward to seeing what Maya Banks does with Jace and Ash stories. Original posted at Wickedly Delicious Book Blog

First, I was like the book is harsh and The story is just a background without real feelings but then I got trap in this intense love story between Gabe and Mia like I was completely out of myself and I was here every step of the book, I really loved it!!!!

Read this as a book club book and it was something... I wasn't too sure what to expect from this one, especially since I didn't read the back cover. I knew it was a brother's best friend/age gap romance, and I knew there would be some spice. I liked going in to this book blind so I could take some satisfaction away from the twists and conflicts. It was an easy read, I finished it in a day. While I found some parts enjoyable, I had a tough time accepting some things. I know this book was published in 2013, so the reference to low-rise sequined jeans didn't phase me (but I did cringe, lemme tell ya). The beginning of the book just feels rush. There was almost no buildup to Mia agreeing to be Gabe's "assistant." And on that note, the contract?! You have someone who is seasoned in this type of relationship and another who is so inexperienced it's a miracle they signed. It was a literal deal with the devil. I had a huge problem with the main, conflict scene. HUGE problem with it. Without spoiling the details of it, it was nearly enough to make me stop reading. There was no conversation about consent, permission, or comfortability about what happened. It was an unconsented punishment where Gabe abused his power with that terrible contract and Mia didn't voice her concerns with what was happening out of hear of disappointing him. So OF COURSE it goes wrong!! I think this is just one of those books that simply doesn't age well. But I'll rate it overall and the conversation starters it had for my bookclub.

I spent a week reading Maya Banks novels and am just now adding them to Goodreads, oh well.

At the beging i was septic because it reminded me 50 shades of Grey (that i love so much !) But finally it's différent and liked it. some situation and the behaviour of Gabe make me uncomfortable sometimes. In conclusion it was a beautiful new romance read.

the ending was a little bit fast but so so cute. i just wish she keep him waiting a little bit more. This is definitly like 50 shades, but i think that the character in this one are more complete, especialy the girl.

3,7⭐

This book was horrible!!!! I cannot explain how much I hated Gabe, he was an asshole and very disrespectful. I put this book down so many times because he just made me mad and disgusted. Don't even get me started with Mia she is such a weak woman and she has no self respect. I just couldn't believe how much this story upset me. It doesn't even deserve one star. It deserves zero stars.

I will never understand why this books has such a high rating.
