I really enjoyed this book. The premise was great. I loved the MFC Joyce. She’s so funny to me, even when she’s being stubborn as all hell. The spice in this book was good too. I hope in future books there will be a bit more tenderness in the spice department. Aiden could be intense and I didn’t mind that. But it would be nice if he wasn’t just going for the SMASHING and did things a bit more gentle. I liked how the book ended. It gives a lot of room for future world building. I can’t wait for the next book to drop.

I came across the author on Tiktok and thought the snippet sounded interesting enough and decided to give it a go. I kinda knew from the beginning that I wasn't necessarily going to vibe with Joyce and I was proven right. The book could've used some polishing. It was very offbeat and funny that the domness of spicy scenes were a bit unexpected? I don't know.. The couple just didn't really work for me, neither did Aiden as a person. I just felt very meh at it all. Story is super predictable and you know who the bad guys are immediately introduce. The twist was also very obvious. I don't know if it is because I read a lot or if it just wasn't written well.

All in all, I would probably return to this author if there's a book with another fun premise. I don't have any interest in reading the sequel
