I won’t lie I had high expectations for this one after Say You Swear and it just didn’t live up to my expectations. Mason and Payton’s book never truly came alive for me. It felt bare and basic of what it could be. The past and present timeline was okay it just didn’t fully help understand the “why” in their relationship. It just didn’t come together how I would have liked and they never really communicated which was a little annoying when she literally was running from him when trying to have a conversation. I understand where her drawback comes from but I guess she was 18 and lacked some maturity maybe, but it just bothered me. I don’t know it’s hard because I liked the characters and loved the first book in the series but this one was just not it.
