book 5 and i'm still swooning over michael

Mia is intolerable in this and thus the book too is intolerable. I liked the bit about Hitler and Mussolini's stance on smoking though.

This was a lot of fun to read. These books may not be perfect but they are surely entertaining. I read them as audiobooks as I walk to and from school, and as a non-native English spearker, the language used is so simple that it is easy for me to follow the story and not get distracted or lose some parts in translation. I like the narrator, even though I preferred them when it was Anne Hathway herself giving voice to Mia. But still, the substitute is quite good. Mia is always a bit too immature, and here Lilly is very silly as well. Their behaviour towards their boyfriends is way too childish, with Mia's obsession with the prom and Lilly's flirt with Jangbu. Boris is not reacting well either, and Michael is quite bland. Regardless, I so enjoy these books. They are quirky and silly and definitely for a younger audience. And really from another time, as they are not exactly up-to-date with the current sensitivity for certain topics (some lines about Asperger's are not very polite and the feminist message is quite incorrect) so it must be taken into consideration they are from years ago. Still, I have already started the next in the series and I am planning to read all the books from the series that I can find in my library

this buddy reread is doing wonders for my goodreads reading challenge

So, like many other books in the princess Diaries series, Princess in Pink wasn't the absolute hardest book for me to read, by no means. It was a really easy and quick read, I just had to find time to actually read it. It was really sweet, but I still don't understand Mia's ways. Unfortunatly, I don't think I ever will. Other than that, Meg Cabot wrote another easy and adorable read and I would definatly pick this series up again in the future. Definatly a 4/5.
