Living in a year around Christmas town has it's drawbacks. The caroling, the decorations, the insanely cheery spirit, it never disappears. It's why I like to hibernate away in my cave--I mean house--keeping a healthy distance from the holly jolly spirits.

And all was going according to plan until my nemesis, Storee Taylor, moved in next door to care for her Aunt Cindy. Without blinking, she turned my simple world into a real nightmare-before-Christmas, especially when she decided to enter the town Christmas Kringle contest - which she was determined to win.

Well guess what? Over my cold-hearted body.

There was no way I was going to let her win, not after the history we'd shared.

So despite my promise to myself of never participating in the sickening Christmas season, I entered the competition as well. That's right, I planned on beating Storee at her own game by pretending this grump’s heart grew three sizes this season.

And it was working until feelings between us started heating up.
We pretended to date.
We kissed.
And well, sparks flew from there.

Which led to one explosive night involving Christmas lights, the competition, and a ladder. Don't let me convince you who stole Christmas, I think you need to find out for yourself . . .

Un libro davvero carino, ma con Meghan Quinn c’è sempre un ma. Ha una comicità che sfocia spesso nello scurrile e che può non piacere a tutti; se avete letto altri libri dell’autrice dovreste saperlo bene. Questo aspetto ha penalizzato il mio voto, per cui da 5 sono passata a 4,5 stelle.

Mi è piaciuta l’idea di aprire ogni capitolo con delle poesia in rima a introdurre gli eventi, così come gli scambi tra Cole e il Narratore. Anche la gara e i dispetti tra Cole e Storee mi hanno divertita, e mi sono commossa per quel ragazzone che riesce a ritrovare lo spirito del Natale e torna ad assaporare di nuovo la vita.

Insomma, c’è chi ha definito il libro cringe, ma personalmente lo trovo un po’ grezzotto, ma ormai so che è qualcosa che dalla Quinn posso facilmente aspettarmi.

I’ve read some absolute trash, but nothing has ever been as atrocious as this flaming pile of crap. I should have DNF’d but I’m frankly not a quitter, but you know who should quit, the author.

This book was really funny. This was a Grinch retelling, but make it spicy. I thought that the narrator and Cole were pretty funny. I loved how there were some pictures throughout the book.

This was such a fun holiday read (listen).  The narrator was so good and read just like a holiday classic. If said holiday classic entailed lots of 🌶️🌶️🌶️. MQ my romance Queen, you did it again. 

Funny, sexy and Christmas what more could you want. This book is giving hallmark movie in the best ways !!

I really wished I would have liked this more than I did. I have experienced so many different romcoms like this one and I haven’t enjoyed any of them. I don’t want to just talk about the things I didn’t enjoy the book so I’m just going to say that I tried and really wanted to like this but the humor in this one is not a type I enjoy. It ultimately felt cringy to me and this then related to certain characters too. Now I’m not saying I don’t like romcoms because I do, it’s just how I perceive it and this one just wasn’t it for me. I also think the pacing of the whole book was off and drawn out. The romance was pretty much completed before the side plot was and then threw in a third act break up just to have the title concept actually play out in the book. It just didn’t work for me. I’m on the fence about the second book because I really liked Max and would like to see the story but if it’s the same vibe as this one I don’t know if I should.

Okay this book gets a bad rap online haha but tbh I thought it was fun! The grinch spin off was fun, and I thought the story line was funny with good supportive characters (I liked max better than cole actually lol). I will say I think it was too long for what actually happened, like it’s incredibly detailed but the details don’t matter 😂 the spicy scenes were mildly cringe also I was literally screaming listening to them hahah but for the most part hot!

This is like a naughty version of the grinch. An enemies to lovers with spice and a whole lot of Christmas. The concept of this one- enemies competing in a Christmas contest was wonderful. I loved all the banter and funny moments. Every chapter starts with a christmasy poem from the narrator and those really made the book. Some of them were super naughty and spicy, some were funny, and some were cute. But they def made the story unique. The spice was pretty spicy for a Christmas novel so keep that in mind. Overall though, this was a really good Christmas read.

It was cleverly written and such a fun RomCom until it wasn’t.  I was completely engrossed in this book and couldn’t put it down with laugh out loud moments.  The author did a great job with the character development until it got spicy.  Not just a little spicy, over the top crude spicy.  Like, all of her hard work that went into building the characters and the development of the story got thrown out the window for sex scene after sex scene.  After that, it felt like the story was rushed.  Like, she forgot there was a plot outside of sex and had to rush to finish it up. The further into the spiciness, the more crude the scenes and language got.  It just took away from the entire story plot.  What started out as a five star ended up with a gracious two star.

i need higher standards for the books i read. i feel like if the book wasn’t so long, i might’ve enjoyed it more. but it was 500 pages, the writing was elementary, the jokes weren’t great, and i was just underwhelmed as a whole.
