3.5 stars | This novel has everything I enjoy in books: queer ladies, a good plot with amazing side characters and a dash of nerdiness, yet it took me a while (65% through) to really get into it and to start caring about the romance. I think it didn't help that the first sex scene was seriously CRINGY. It kinda threw me ha, and I had a hard time taking anything seriously after that, sorry. 

As a (TV) fangirl, I liked that Taylor was an EP and Isabel a writer for a popular, primetime show. I'm not giving up on this series though! The writing was decent and I know if I hadn't been in a slumpy reading mood, I would have liked it a lot better. I intend to pick up the second book soonish.

Ok, I really like Brayden as an author, and I really like this story. There, I said it! Brayden creates characters that are relatable and down-to-earth and Eyes Like Those is no exception. This story is a feel-good romantic journey from cover to cover. Taylor is my favorite of the mains. What’s not to like about her? She’s smart, driven, open-minded, and has a magnetic personality that someone as rotten as Ass-pen can’t say no to. I was all for “Team Isabel” for 90% of the story, til my support came to a screeching halt. I’ve never hated a main character as much as I hated Isabel. I know she’s just a fictional character, but I hoped bad karma would wreak its havoc on her. But supporting besties Gia, Autumn, and Hadley are the epitome of true friendship. Concerning Isabel, Brayden did a great job stirring emotions of anger and disgust in me because I usually don‘t get worked up over fictional characters; it’s just not me. As a result, I have a feeling I am about to indulge myself in this series or have a full-fledged Brayden-athon over the next week. Overall, this is a well-written, well-paced, and well-received romantic story by one of the genre’s best-selling authors.

This one is a bit hard for me because of Isabel’s panic attacks, which I feel all the way to my bones. Hence the 4* on my first read, I think. I’ve read it again and I changed to 5* because what was I thinking?

I finished this book last night and I already find myself forgetting about it. I had trouble with the writing style, I felt some of the sentences were a bit silly and it took me out of the story. This means that I had trouble connecting to the characters and their relationship. I liked getting a behind the scene look into TV show creation, I've never read one before, in fact this is the first book I've read that takes place in Hollywood. I don't think its a setting that I particularly enjoy, its not a life style that I'm interested in. I did like the anxiety rep and the fact that her issues didn't disappear into thin air when she got into a relationship, it was very realistic.
