Reviews

This review was originally posted on Addicted To Romance THIS REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS, SO FAIR WARNING, UPON READING THE REVIEW. Wicked Whiskey Love is the fourth installment in the “Whiskeys: Dark Knights at Peaceful Harbor” series by Melissa Foster. I haven’t exactly read these books in order, have I? I have really read all the books completely out of order but its not a process in which I would recommend one doing. Now, these all can be read as standalone if needed, however, it may feel like the beginning of some of these books will seem closer to instant love. They aren’t truly instant love (although the vibe may feel like that) if you read the books out of order. What is most fun about this series is each book will give hints and some buildup of the couple featured in the next book. However, if you are like me, then it may seem like they pair together pretty quickly. Not that I have any issue with that, because I don’t. I do have more of a preference to see as much couple-page time as possible and the talent of Melissa Foster is to create such sincerity within her stories. WICKED WHISKEY LOVE IS A CHARMING, PACKED WITH HEART ROMANCE THAT FEATURES Bones Whiskey– Doctor, biker and brother in the local MC, strong and silent, protective and an Alpha Cinnamon Roll Sarah Beckley– Single mother, on the run, making a fresh start Wicked Whiskey Love begins with our heroine who has settled in Peaceful Harbor, making a fresh start for herself and her two children and a child on the way. Sarah has suffered much in her past, and has made her share of mistakes, but she is striving to make a bright future for her children and making a home in this town that has welcomed them with open arms especially the Whiskey family and most especially the sexy doctor biker “Bones” where she has felt an attraction to ever since she arrived. She knows that there is a possibility of something very real happening between herself and Bones but she also knows that she has a past, one that she has been running from. And she doesn’t know if when the truth comes out, that Bones will be able to accept for who she is or will shun her….but sometimes love is a risk…. “You asked me earlier if I noticed as much about others as I do you,” he said softly. “I’m not sure of the answer. It’s hard not to notice little things about you, like the way you blush when I touch you and the way your love for your children and your strength as a woman radiate like the sun.” Wicked Whiskey Love is such a captivating book and I fell so hard for this book here, so much that it became a five BLOSSOM star rating and I actually have noticed that this author can easily deliver a story that just works for me in so many ways. I am actually in love with seeing how this author just captivates me so quickly. I used to be so apprehensive in picking up this author because her backlist is so intimidating at times, but I can’t resist grabbing this author up, each time I read her work, I just fall for the charm and sweetness so quickly. And she makes these heroes that are so alpha/cinnamon rolls and its simply delectable. I never knew that I needed a sweet alpha male, but Melissa Foster really pens them so wonderfully. In a way I have never really seen before, there is something so touching about the way these heroes are ALL in for the heroines. And this is definitely the case for Bones. He has always been slow in making his decisions, thinking about every possibility of what is the safest road. But when he meets Sarah, he knows that she is the one for him and isn’t shy about that. He is willing to fight for Sarah no matter how long it takes to convince her of his sincerity and devotion to her and the children. Sarah has been through hell and back and has had to make some painful decisions to survive and I really admired her strength and tenacity to do what needed to be done. And these little kiddies were so charming and knocked my socks off. I will be frank….I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but I absolutely adore CHILDREN IN ROMANCE. It honestly is one of my favorite things. And if an author can write it well, it will really work and the way that they are implemented in this one was sweet perfection in a way that delves into the heart in such a relevant way. “She let me in,” he said truthfully. “If I’m lucky, her mama will, too.” The romance that we see the build in this one may seem fast-acting in the beginning but is packed with so much depth. I was so overwhelmed by the sense of emotion that strikes a chord deep within the reader that the author is able to provoke. I love such a touching small-town feel to a romance, and this author really touched base with every aspect in such a wonderful way. From the beginning, you can see how much these two feel for each other. But Sarah is afraid to trust in Bones, she has been hurt so badly in her past, but even though she has trust issues, she knows that he would never hurt her and Bones doesn’t disappoint. No matter what she has done and sacrificed, Bones is steady as a rock. He is such a fighter like many of the Whiskey males, he is as solid as they come and HUSBAND material. The way he stands by Sarah and her children, with utter devotion and conviction that they belong together, And as an added plus, Bones takes to fathering like grandmas and pumpkin pie. Bones says as long as we’re honest with ourselves, shame has no place in our lives. Overall I found Wicked Whiskey Love to be a book that packs a balance between smexy times that is bound to curl your toes, to deep-felt characters, and a story that has so much heart and provoking emotion deep within its essence. You can’t go wrong with this one and will thank your lucky stars to have discovered such a read. ------------------------------------------------------------

Wicked Whiskey Love by Melissa Foster is the fourth book in the Whiskey series and it is unnecessary to read the books in order as each book can stand on its own. Having read the previous books I awaited Wayne Whiskey aka Bones with eager anticipation. I must confess that I initially I had a hard time getting into the story due to what I considered being a slow start. Eventually at around thirty percent into the story things changed, and I found myself invested in Bones and Sarah’s story. This story will create havoc with your emotions. This series unlike the other books written by Ms. Foster focuses on issues such as abuse, homelessness and drug addiction. This installment was no different. Sarah appeared in the previous book where she was involved in a serious accident and the Whiskey family came to her rescue. During this time, Bones became enamoured of her. He knew she was the one for him and he was not about to let her get away. He did not care if she had enough baggage to fill an aeroplane. He willingly lay claim to her baggage. His reaction to Sarah amazed his family as Bones is not the type of person to make rash decisions. He researches things before taking action. From the moment, he willing accepted Sara despite her being a single mom of two and another baby on the way I knew he was special. How many men would do that? I admired Sarah’s resilience. Despite the tragedies she suffered from childhood to adulthood she remained strong for those who mattered most, her children. I understood why she would have trust issues. The people who she should have been able to trust betrayed in the worst ways possible. I enjoyed watching Sarah overcome the tragedies of her past and embrace the love that Bones and his family offered her. She learnt that not everyone who did nice things for her had a hidden agenda. I loved seeing his protective side come to light especially with her children. The display of family bonds warmed my heart. It made me yearned for such an experience. Not once did the Whiskeys judge Sarah, they accepted her for whom she was and even more so when they learnt of her past. Conclusion/Recommendation Wicked Whiskey Love is a story that will warm your heart. It is a story about second chances, healing, love and family. This story 0000is one I would recommend to fans of contemporary romance. I cannot wait to read the next book which features Sarah’s sister.
