Reborn The Red Ledger Volume 1 (Parts 1, 2 &3)
Reviews

Isabel Foster has lived without Tristan until he walks back into her life after being unable to fulfill his contract to kill her. Tristan knows Isabel was important to him before he lost all of his memories, so he just can't bring himself to pull the trigger, but he knows if he doesn't intervene, he will be dead and someone else will take his place. Isabel can't believe it when she sees Tristan on the street, but the man she remembers no longer exists, so Isabel will have to decide if she can let the past go and fall in love with Tristan again.
The Red Ledger Reborn is a bind up of the first three books in this series, and it is a fun, light mystery, spy adventure and amnesia romance, however the story is unrealistic and the characters come across as one dimensional. The memory loss part of the plot reminds me of a bad television movie in which the writer doesn't really know how to handle that type of story. There are some entertaining parts of this book, but the superficial nature of the novel and the lack of humor create a less than successful narrative. Overall The Red Ledger Reborn contains a few enjoyable elements, but not enough to persuade me to continue with this series.

Librarian: Nope, sorry not recommending this one for purchase. Even if we needed spy novels right now (which we don't), this one just isn't worth picking up. it just doesn't have enough substance to make it one I can easily recommend. Maybe if we had a few older students who were into spy novels. Or course they'd also have to be into romance novels. And be in at least 11th grade. These books aren't for anyone younger than that. Reader: This is, admittedly, not my genre. I'm not a regular reader of spy or romance novels. But even if I was I probably wouldn't have enjoyed this one. There just isn't a ton of substance. Maybe if it had focused more on the spy aspects than the romance. But it didn't and the book suffers, because of it. Honestly it feels more like one of those puppy dog vampire romances than it does any sort of spy romance.

This was my first Meredith Wild book that wasn't co-written and I am very pleased!! This story starts off with Isabel working as an English teacher in Rio where she is trying to move froward with her life and not think about the man who broke her and left her with a gaping hole in her heart. But what happens when said man shows up at her front door step, claims he doesn't remember her and is there to kill her? This book is fast pace, full of tension and secrets, and one that will leave you wanting to binge the rest of the series in one day. Even though Tristian can be rough around the edges and don't have many social skills, this man is so perfect! He's loving when he claims he doesn't have a heart, he's attentive even when he doesn't want to be, and he can lay down some pipe even though he says it doesn't mean anything! I can't wait to read book two!
