Dmitrij A. Gluchovskij

I can't say how much I love this book.
It's thrilling, interesting and the culture/world he builds are amazing.
It is terror and made me feel like something was always going to pass by my window at night hehe
I am not a good writer of reviews but what I love about the book is the world he creates :) it goes beyond the main story.

I decided to read this after reading some of the reviews, and seeing that this was one of my recommended books.

To start off, the setting, the enviroment and the atmosphere are superb and spot on. You actually really feel like you know how hard the life in the Metro can be.

However, where the book falls short, is the storytelling. The main charachter doesn't develop enough; he seems to gain experience, and aquires (some) skills, but in the end, every time there is an action, he is lost, and he fights, even with things that should feel a little more natural to him.

Another problem is, that in many 'dramatic' parts, when author tries to heave the reader in, he relies on short, fast sentences, long (and boring later, as well) descriptions of how it works inside the head of the characters… It doesn't work. It's slowing everything down, it's boring, it's tedious...
