When She Was Good
Reviews

Goodness... you know a book is good when it got you stunned for 30 minutes to just try and contemplate everything. Yes, it is THIS book. I hate how it wrapped up nicely but also quite open-endedly that I would be happy with another sequel. This book dive into Evie and what happened to her in the past. Of course, the deeper Cyrus tried to dig, the darker things are and the more dangerous it is for him to meddle. I love Evie's character so much. She endures so much shit in her life, too much for someone her age, too much for a human being should endure in their whole life. But she's a tough survivor, and despite her mean and cold demeanor, she craves absolute attention from someone that wouldn't lie to her. She wanted to feel wanted, to have someone care for her without them being taken away from her. Now comes... the tricky part. Trying to unravel the relationship between each character. Especially Cyrus and Evie. Goodness, it's like trying to enter a tornado, a maelstrom of mixed emotions, but there seems to be no calm inside it. We know that both of them cared for each other more than normal, they specifically mentioned that. Evie saying that she'd just do anything that she wouldn't usually do to have Cyrus and to get his affection and Cyrus saying he would literally do anything, even bargain with the devil himself to keep Evie from danger. He even mentioned that Evie is the only person who makes him forget about his own dark past and focus on her only. Make of that what you will... because I certainly can't put a finger on this. The plot was, as usual, going around, and the latter half was keeping me on my toes that I finished the entire latter half in 2 sittings just because I need to know. What kept me from giving this a full 5 stars is the first half and because it wasn't as entertaining to me. And the thing between Cyrus and Sasha, don't lie to anyone, it's so obvious from the minute they met LMAO. 4.25/5 stars

“Fighting like a girl with the face of an angel and a thousand invisible scars.” A face paced storyline that grips you from the very beginning and takes you on a roller coaster ride to find out the truths about “Angel Face.”

wanted to see if the sequel was better… it wasn’t.

2 1/2* eerder. Was niet echt super spannend. Maar doorgelezen omdat ik wil weten hoe het nou met Evie zat...
