We Do What We Do in the Dark A Novel
Reviews

aggravating but pervasively relatable.

Distant and delicious. But i am begging contemporary authors to name their fucking characters.

“i’m afraid of being alone and afraid that’s the only way I know how to be”

So shallow and badly written I con't bring myself to finish it.

oh my god this ripped my stomach out

(debating a five star rating) - wow. this was such a magnificently poetic and beautiful story of loneliness and the impact other people can have on our lives and personas - quite literally found myself underlining every other sentence because of how masterful hart is with words, so very excited to hear more from her

I loved the whole concept of this book, of finding comfort and happiness in someone.

Highlights

That she was at once responsible for what was happening and free from the responsibility of whatever would happen next so aroused her that she looked down at the wine bottle between her legs and started sliding an open fist up and down its neck.
