I have no idea how people tackle The Big Mountains. The cold, the altitude sickness, etc. Jeezopete.

While this book was a solid read, I quickly found out that it wasn’t for me after reading the first couple of chapters. However, I did stick with it and ended up somewhat liking it.
 
Thin Air is supposedly a horror, but it certainly didn’t feel like one. If anything, it was more unsettling than a pure horror book, and even then, it wasn’t until near the end things started to feel a little eerie. The first ¾ was about the journey to get to the mountain, which left the last ¼ for actually climbing up the mountain. So yeah, the pacing was relatively slow and took a while for me to read or even be invested in the story. With that being said, it does pick up a little towards the end.
 
The author did a good job with the writing, and the descriptions were very vivid.
