Hopeless another version by Dean's pov?!?! And why is his book is as longer just like the first one?! Probably his mind is all about Sky (he is!). He had a lot in his mind and he might be a good writer! I love that journaling is his way of coping up with grief of losing his sister. This is a reminder for Dean that he didn't do anything wrong. That sometimes walking away is the best thing we could do. We might have also save someone's life. And I love Daniel and Dean's friendship!! The teasing, the loyalty, I'm here for it!

A Novel

This was a nice addition to Hopeless. It does give some background on Holder in situations where you wish the book would be a dual POV. It was definitely emotional and only added even more to the original plot. It’s one you don’t have to read but could be a good book to tandem read if anyone would figure out that layout.

There were so many parts to this book where I felt like I was just re-reading Hopeless. It made it hard to get through. I know this is Holder’s perspective, but there was little new information in this book that makes me feel like Hopeless could’ve just been a POV novel to begin with. However, I’m rating this a 3 because the amount of passion Holder has for Hope a.k.a Sky, just carries this novel from front to cover. The type of passion that I’ll be swooning about for days. He really loves her.

90% of this book was hard to get through. Same story line from hopeless, but from Holder's view. There were a few good bits but all in all it felt redundant. The little bit of closure I got from the ending saved this book a little for me.

Colleen Hoover never disappoints! An absolutely amazing author. I loved everything about this book.

I really enjoyed reading from Holder's point of view. It was great seeing what was going through his mind, when in the last book we had no idea why he was acting like he was. Honestly a great book, added lots of new information to the storyline. I would recommend to anyone that just finished reading Hopeless.

I don't see the point in even finishing this book. I'm already halfway through it and really, it's basically just a repeat of Hopeless but in the POV of Holder. I mean, IT'S THE SAME FUCKING THING, THE SAME FUCKING STORY.

So... yeah, no point indeed.

In true Colleen Hoover fashion, she created a sequel that's not really a sequel. It sucks.

This just didn’t live up to the first book. 

I loved the idea of getting Holder’s perspective, but there were so many parts of this book that were absolutely cringe-worthy. 

Getting the insight into Les and Holder’s relationship was great, but I hated Holder as a narrator.

I love this book! I love seeing how he thought of life and what happened. I love knowing how he dealt with things.

WORD OF ADVICE:

I suggest you do not read this book immediately after you finishing Hopeless.
I found that reading this book immediately after the first book confused me a little. A lot of time was spent trying to remember details and going back and forth between Sky’s point of view and Holder’s. Maybe it’s just a problem I have when reading books one after another, but like I said, I suggest giving it a bit of time in between so that the story seems somewhat fresh.

Losing Hope is amazing. Like all books with male POV’s it always brings something new to the story. I find male POV’s bring justification to the story, or to the character. This one is no different. Readers are reintroduced to Dean Holder in a new and a more loving light in comparison to the fun, angsty, mood-swinging Holder from Hopeless. After reading this novel, I definitely have a new respect for him.

Certain events in our lifetime we will never forget. Unfortunately some of those events are negative. Dean Holder will never forget the day he walked away from his best friend, Hope. He’ll also never forget the day he found his sister dead in her bedroom. Those days have continued to haunt him until the summer of his senior year in high school. By some chance meeting he finds Hope again, but she doesn’t remember who he is. Now he has to bear the burden of knowing who she is and wonders when he’ll be able to reveal the truth to her.

At first I didn’t like Dean. Holder.
I thought he was ignorant, weird, and a little creepy. In this novel I find he’s more justifiable. He has a reason for everything; he feels more than every other stupid teenager and will have to go through life living through traumatic events most people couldn’t even dream about going through in their teenage years.

Men who read books like this, or any contemporary romance novel, would probably say these male characters are unrealistic. They’re so sissy, and wussy, and real guys can’t feel all that. I guess that’s what us female readers like about them. These guys are sensitive, they care about the girl more than life itself, and aren’t ashamed to admit what they feel. Of course Holder is different. He teases her, he’s cocky, but he’s still AMAZING, even if he is the most whipped boyfriend ever.

Losing Hope is a FANTASTIC companion novel to Hopeless and fans of Holder shoulder definitely read this book. It gives the reader such a bigger insight to the character and even to Les. You get the bulk of the information you need from Sky’s POV, but now you get even more from Holder’s. I promise, the end will be worth it.

I really loved this perspective of the story than hopes/sky’s I think it showed more of the plot and the storyline better and it wasn’t like reading a cringey high school book I loved the storyline but the book didn’t word it the way I wanted it to be worded for me personally. I loved the letters in the book that he wrote and how it was worded.

I finished this book in a day. I read it at stop lights just to finish it. While I liked the first one more I was so compelled by Holder I couldn’t help but hear his side and couldn’t finish till he found his peace.

Honestly I love that we got a book with his POV of the whole story because this makes the story itself so much better. Knowing his thoughts and feelings make the story so much more real.
Knowing why he acted the way he did was what I needed to love these books even more. Honestly I love Sky(Hope) and Dean/Holder so much. I remember reading the first book a few years back and reading this just made me fall in love with this series again.

made me tear up i’ll be honest. honestly i feel so bad for dean. even though at first he seemed a little creepy with his stocking he took care of sky so well. he proved how much he loved her. getting his pov really made this series better tbh.
